Hello, many of us are involved with cryptos as a way to earn, save or invest. Very few of us are here as people who have created are built something that does something for other users are provides a service. I see tons of people wanting to make money in crypto, chasing after shit tokens and dumping into the latest farm token but I dont see many people actually doing anything to make their wish a reality, they try to take shortcuts and many times end up worse off.

Everyone seems happy to remain within the "gig" side of things with zero commitment required and reliant on post payouts and farming/div payments. The common attitude for most users is I want money but I dont wanna work for it, I just want it. Here are a few meanless repeated words and a picture, pay me! I deserve it cause im "adding value" with my few hundred words. This is true with life also, I want a promotion but im not willing to put in the extra hours and the guy that actually gets promoted was just lucky.

If you are serious about making money from crypto, the easiest way to do this is by building your own project. You can create your own "luck" in exchange for hard work, allocating time wisely and grinding. Im going to be talking about HIVE but there are many blockchains out there and to each their own, we're all on the same team at the end of the day. Do you wanna be shit posting forever just to make sure you keep earning? Wouldn't it be a much better idea to build something that actually adds value for some users? and gives you a better sense of achievement? that in turn motivates you to do better. Im not saying content is not important but most people are shitty writers and new projects bring's new content. I am personally much better at running investment tokens than I am at writing content so that's what I do instead of writing content. I wrote daily for almost 3 years and the grind after 1 year was boring and not satisfying at all, it was more routine than anything. Now I post when I feel like writing which is not very often but my HIVE experience is much better and more profitable than it was would I just posting to earn. I was 2-3 years into my STEEM/HIVE journey when I decided to create something.

Spot your chance and seize the day

When steem-engine was launched a few months, i saw that people could create a token for only 100 STEEM but $30 at the time. Apart from a few new tribes tokens, everything else was a shitcoin made for vote sharing are just for fun. The problem I saw was there were no investment tokens available, the solution was to create one and SPinvest was born.

How did I do this? I thought up a bulletproof model, got some feedback from a few crypto buddies, paid the 100 STEEM and launched it. I was consistent with what I said I was going to do and over-delivered many times. I am not a dev and cant code a single line but im willing to learn, to try and fail and to continually feed knowledge into my small head. I am willing to listen to people that know better than me and always outline everything as transparently as I can.

I've done it 4 times with 4 different tokens with 4 different use cases.

SPI - Daddy HE investment token with over 30 different investments, up 500% in the past year. EDS - Pays out 23% and growing APY in weekly HIVE div's LBI - Controls 3.5% of all LEO in circulation and earns 1500 LEO a week CL - Pays out 60-80% AYP in weekly LEO div's

(ps. Yes I do consider SPI to be the daddy of HE investment tokens, hehe)

You can see that creating investment tokens is where my passion is and the thing I like the do. I have about 20 other great ideas for good tokens but we are at the wrong time of the market cycle to release them and for others, I dont have the time to commit. The cost of creating 4 tokens is 400 BEE. I've paid a further 1000 BEE to create a miner token for EDS and paid about $400-500 to dev's to set up and maintain weekly divs for all 4 tokens. The cost of entry is very small when we consider that these 4 tokens manage $400k of funds.

After SPI came other investment style tokens like Brofund, Index, dhedge, and recently Utopis. All of these tokens provide a simple service and collectively I'd guess HE investments tokens lock up more than $1 million in funds. Might not sound like alot about this number was zero dollars 2 years ago and maybe $100k at most this time last year.

What can you offer?

Everyone has a passion, you find your passion and build something on it. I know these words make it sound simple, I was a daily STEEM user for 2 years before I released anything so a project idea might not come for you quickly but the sooner you start thinking, researching and looking for an opportunity, the quicker something will come up and you'll get your "lightbulb" moment.

The deeper you go with your research and the more time you spend on it, the more knowledge you will have and this will help your "lightbulb" moment to come quicker. Your lightbulb moment is more likely to come if you are researching and learn a new piece of information that your brain instantly links to something else and combines into something new..., your lightbulb moment. It might come to you if you're watching America's Got Talent and eating gourmet popcorn but it's less likely, maybe Dragon's Den (Shark Tank) would be better to watch. The point is it's best to start with something you are passionate about as starting your own project pays zero until it's doing something so it's best you enjoy what your building/creating. Everyone says this but it's true and very important. You gotta love what you do.

The best thing you can for HIVE is to build a project on it. Each project gives HIVE a new use case and opens the doors for more projects. EG, Aggroed released steem-engine. Tribes were built on SE, tokens are built and games were built using SE as a place for their game currencies. How much value does hive-engine add to HIVE? Alot for sure about only because a lot of other people have created tribes and other tokens on HE. I'd not be running tokens and if you think deeper, would cubdefi.com exist if SE were never created?

Of course, releasing something like hive-engine is not within a normal person's range of skills but you dont know your limits until to push them. Building good relationships with people that can help will reward you, sharing your idea's and gathering feedback is even better. People will actually tell you to want they want and if you can provide it, you've created something that is of use. These can be applied to many different genres and niches.

If you are stuck and find it hard to think of a good product are service project to provide, remember that people are mainly motivated by money. You think the price of LEO jumped 15x because of the LeoFinance UI update are the news of project blank and LeoGov airdrops? The fact of the matter is people only care about the bottom line and will support whoever produces them the highest yields are the biggest promises (im looking at you Elon and the recent BTC tweets 😢). This might be bad advice but there are only a few thousand people who are actively on HIVE, the idea of a weekly book club is nice but how many would take part from 5000 users? Everyone likes money and if you can provide them with a return, they will take part. If you can pay 10 HIVE to each person that takes part in the weekly book club, your member numbers will increase for sure. In this instance, you would need to find a way to fund that 10 HIVE every week for each person.

This of course is not always the case but mostly, people will use your product/service if it benefits them financially. In other cases, there are services like HIVE keychain, dlease, hivetasks, hivestats or LeoDex to name a few different ones. I personally have no idea how they make money or if they even do. They might be funded projects, they might be self-funded and ran at a loss. Point is, someone seen that they could add something are improve on something else and built it into existence.

Final note

Do you wanna be a leader are a follower? You can be the person that is always waiting for someone else to release something, are receive an airdrop are whatever to pump your bags? but why not be the person that is releasing the project? doing the airdrop? upgrading or adding on to what you already offer and pump your bags every day? Listen, writing content is cool for those that are good at it but there is so much out there on offer ready to be taken and in the grand scheme of things on HIVE, we are stuck in the corner of the playground and only using a small fraction of what is available to us.

I know what I am, ok. Im a small-time hassler that runs a few tokens on HE and I've made a few people a few dollars. I run transparent and fully backed projects and that's what I've built my "rep" on. If my tokens are to stop existing tomorrow, HIVE would carry on as if nothing happened. I know this and im aware of it. I dont really care about this. Im trying to get people to a way of thinking that is almost selfish. My tokens for me are hobbies, sure there's alot of money at stake but at the end of the day, all the tokens im involved with are hobbies that replaced posting content for me.

If they grow into being worth millions, I'll make a job out of it but first of foremost, I enjoy what I do. I get so much more satisfaction from operating these tokens than I ever did posting and I want others to experience this as well. If you enjoy posting content, that's cool but there are many other ways to make money while adding value in some way are. You create your own position within HIVE and be consistent and if people like what you are doing, you will be successful.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this post. I see many people stuck in a routine of cunning out rubbish content and just wanna spread the word that there are other ways to earn from the blockchain. Seeking help, asking lots and lots of questions and building up your knowledge in your field should be entry-level stuff anyone can do with an internet connection.

What do you think? Easier said than done?
