My schedule got pretty hectic lately. This does tend to happen with two career defining Medical License exams looming upon me. One of these exams were supposed to be in July, but the coronavirus shutdown messed things up pretty bad for me and now I'm stuck with two exams spread over 5 papers in the span of just 12 days. Might not seem like a lot to most, but those who are even remotely familiar with how the curriculum of medical exams looks like, will come over and give me a pity hug!

This isn't alien to me though. I usually get these kicks up my arse a month before the exam and I seclude myself from everything distracting and focus. But for some reason I have struggled with focus for the last few weeks. But at least the kick up the arse is roughly 3 months before the exam, so that's still good. gives me enough time to fix up my schedule.

I have quit my job recently as I need at least 14-16 study hours a day and some days even that seems not enough and I am already lagging on my targets. I've been trying to squeeze in more time from wherever I can and one obvious distraction for the last couple of weeks has been Splinterlands.

That's how much I played last season, and that is too much by any definition. And that's just ranked battles. I must have played at least 8-10 tournaments last season, which is by far the most I have ever played in a single season so far. Although I have to admit, last season has also been my best season, both in terms of playing and net balance. I feel I have played very, very well last season. My win rate was 80.2% and I have played against decks at a few levels higher than mine. And in terms of a net balance :

From battles and tournaments I have received nearly 30,000 DECs which is about 3 times what I usually get. But after a conversation with Head-Clerk a few weeks ago, I strongly agreed to a point he made. I have decided to not "earn" anything from the game, neither am I going to put much extra into the game. Because, as I will not be taking anything out from the game, I will constantly be at a net loss. So I have used up all that DEC throughout the season to constantly buy cards and upgrade my deck. I have also been keeping my trading DEC (the amount I buy off the market with hive) separate from my in-game DEC. The trading DEC is just to "buy low, sell high!"

So back to the topic, I need to decrease playing splinterlands and I understand this will reduce the amount of DEC I will be getting. I am completely fine with that as long as I am having a bit of fun.

We are already 3 or 4 days into this current season and I have kept my word to myself of not playing too much! I think I'm doing pretty well so far with my win rate!

I'm trying to get my sleep pattern into a schedule too. I have not been getting enough sleep and I am pretty sure that is hampering my productivity. I usually get to bed pretty late. As @raymondspeaks says, I am The doctor who advises people to sleep early and constantly pulls all-nighters! That really needs to change.

I haven't had the chance to trim my Beard in over 45 days and a haircut in almost 2 and a half months. In my mum's words, I'd find myself better suited in a jungle and she is not wrong. I just don't have the luxury to take off a couple of hours out of my day at the moment. That's just the way it is. As dada says, no if, but or coconut!

I used to think I'm spending a lot of time writing posts for my blog, but as it turns out, last month I had written only 8 posts. It came as bit of a shock. And this is where it gets very interesting. Dada, Sakib and Linco bhai, all three of them had exactly 8 posts in the last month too and head-clerk had enough with our laziness. So we took up a challenge of writing more regularly this month, at least 12 posts. Needless to say, I'm already way behind all three of them :)

These 3 people are machines to say the least, some of the very, very rare few on HIVE who can write a post almost everyday and maintain top-notch quality. How do you compete with three such prolific writers, when there's no time to breathe?!

Oh hey, Look! That's post number 5 done! N-n-not bad, ...eh Potter?!
