The Flickerings, Swings, and Misses of Creating Ideas

Does anyone remember that fella Thomas Edison?

Remember that day he rose from bed, and, having never given it any consideration at all what-so-ever, shit out a light bulb and changed the world?

Me either. I read it took years of hard work, dedication, and the embrace of failure after failure to achieve something we would hardly consider useful today. We can chemically enhance candles that burn brighter and probably longer and I'd dare say more safely.

Creating just about anything is a long, arduous process and this holds doubly true for new ideas.

The Play2Earn concept is such an idea.

Take Splinterlands, for example... because it's the one I'm most familiar with.

This isn't an overnight success. The devs have been working hard, long hours from day one, and, based on the recent situation regarding server upgrades, the hours are getting longer and harder.

In my opinion this is just one example of the Play2Earn concept realized. I don't mean this game, specifically, though. I mean the entire genre. Most games are still traditional video games regarding the user interface. It's just been stacked on top of mining/defi.

I think there's an opportunity to turn Play2Earn into a lifestyle, wherein there's no need for a graphical interface.

In my best Rod Serling... Imagine, if you will...

A place where your knowledge can manifest into true power.

A place where learning to realize that power and hone it earns income.

A place where teaching what you've learned empowers your earning potential farther.

A training grounds for the super hero, villain, wizard, warrior in each of us where the stronger our power grows, as does our financial stability and might.

Leveling the Playing Field

What is it that the Masters of the Universe on Wall Street have that the rest of us lack? It's knowledge of the system they operate in and the power to influence it in ways that empower them further.

We have that right here, for ourselves!

And our system is faster and more efficient!

The Masters only have mastery of the world they own!

This is our world. We are *The Masters here.

We should start acting like it.

Not all of us have mad coding skills to throw down *The KILLER dapp, but we have the ability to interact, share, teach, learn, build, and grow. That's more than enough to be successful here.

Take @taskmaster4450 for example. The dude is building a brand based on nothing magical or mysterious... just showing up every day to lay down some knowledge and insight. He spends some time researching whatever the hell he's interested in at the moment, then hangs out here to share his thoughts and discuss them with the community.

Check out some of his payouts. I know people who work full time jobs with over time that don't pull in what he earns for playing **Professor X to bunch of miscreants like us.

He could start his own community or tribe, toss out a few NFT miners for followers and build an empire based on nothing more than pursuing his own interests at his own pace. Is that not the equivalent of a super strength in the world we live in?

Who here has that kind of luxury? Who do you know in your everyday life who isn't bound by something they'd rather not be doing?

EVERYONE I know is chained to something that extracts more from them in some form or fashion than the return it offers.

Jobs aren't just 9-5. Their influence is upon you at all times.

Everything you do outside of them can have an impact on them so they have to be prioritized over things that are far more important, but not as easy to quantify as not having enough money to keep the lights on.

You ever wanted to getaway for a few days, but had to be back at work in the morning?

Ever needed to get a task done that required far more effort and possibly expense than necessary because you couldn't get the day off to handle it properly?

How many arguments over the dinner table have resulted from having a lousy day, or boss, or co-worker?

The Never Ending Grind

Then there's debt, financially of course, but the true price is paid in time, and spirit. You don't just have to pay for the car and the house and the lawn, you have to maintain them. Cars need to be washed and polished in the driveway of that nice house that gutters and siding to be cleaned, and trees that need to be pruned, and on and on.

How many times did you pass on playing catch with your kid because you had to climb up on the roof to pull the weeds out of the gutter on the only day off you've had this month so HOA would stfu about it.

The point is most of us spend our entire lives chasing smoke or hopping from foot to foot trying to find a piece of solid ground with the puppeteers pull the strings that keep us off balance so they can rob us of everything of value in our lives. We can do better.

So What's the Plan?

I'm trying to put something together that will combine some of the tools I alluded to earlier, into a community that does exactly what I discussed above. It's still rough and I have no coding skills, so I'd like thoughts and input on the most effective way to implement.

I have a lite paper that isn't quite ready for release that contains various approaches to this I'd like to share with a few particular individuals once it's complete. Sound off in the comments! Let's pull it together!

*Drawing from the Marvel Universe it was either Professor X or The Thing. I hope you're cool with the direction I ran with it. Having said that, if you want to start showing up on 3SPK painted green, we can spin you into a Professor Hulk-Master 4450^10. Your call ;P
