A simple leaf consist of the following basic compositions, which are;
- Tip: is the extreme end of the leaf.
- Midrib: is the thick vein at the middle of the leaf.
- Leaf Margin: is the edge of the leaf.
- Lamina: is also known as blade. It is the flat surface of the leaf.
- Leaf vein: is the stripe -like portion of the leaf. It is usually extended from the midrib to the margin.
- Petiole: is the one that holds the leaf. It can be used to hold the leaf.
