Ever since ZEN forked from Zclassic, the dev team have been building new technology on top of the fork such as Domain Fronting and Tiered Nodes (Supernodes). Sidechains are up next for Horizen, this will facilitate Dapps to run on the Horizen network and will use Supernodes for processing the chain.

By operating a node, you can opt in and out of supporting Dapps. Many of which plan on rewarding operators for running services on Supernodes for specific Sidechains.

This will allow node operators to bring in extra income and other possible benefits from supporting Horizen Sidechains.

During Q4 2019 a Sidechain SDK beta release will be launched, so any time between now and the first of the year.

Looking forward to seeing the Dapps and implementations on the Side Chain. Node Tracker is the first to be moved, and then in the future a Treasury will be formed on the Sidechain as well.

Horizen has the most nodes out of any Blockchain. Over 30,000+ Nodes on the Horizen Blockchain. This brings great decentralization to the network and by staking 42 or 500 coins anyone can be a Node. The Bitcoin Lightning Network has little over 6k Nodes for example. And Dash has less than 5k Masternodes on their network.

Lastly congrats Rolf @blockops and Rob for such a great community and platform along with everyone else on the team. Its always a pleasure to work with everyone on the Discord and happy to be a part of the network.
