WOULD WE STOP EATING

My title might sound kind of weird but it's a real fact. Feeding is one of a kind we can't neglect even in tight budgets. Inflation is now one of the problems affecting us here in Nigeria.A day out of the market and coming back to met products way higher than it was. Needs are far different from wants.Acessories might take a quite long time to buy but feeding is every now and then.All Food items has drastically increased in price both the one we think would be way cheaper.

A food we prepared today then would have cost like 2000 ($3.45)then in cooking but with the current situation it was cooked with 4000($6.90). Double of what was used before.

It's been almost a year I ate this food achicha ede and fio_fio* pigeon peas although it's a seasonal food preferably cooked in rainy season.

Below are the ingredients and recipe on how to cook the delicacy

  • achicha ede
  • Pigeon beans
  • Fresh pepper
  • African oil bean seed
  • Palm oil
  • Maggi
  • Salt to taste
  • Ugba
  • Onion

PROCEDURE

  • cook your pigeon beans for 1_2hours
  • add achicha ede together but the pigeon beans will be in the water whereas the achicha ede will be on top of the sieve.
  • Add your scent leaf
  • When done remove your achicha ede and put in a bowl

  • Put the pigeon beans in a sieve to drain water

Cook your sauce by

  • Put a clean pot on the fire either by gas, stove or charcoal
  • Add your oil
  • Add your sliced onion
  • Add your maggi
  • Add your salt Add your pounded ugba* and pepper
  • Add little water and allow to boil for 2_3 minutes.

  • Put the pigeon beans and achicha ede in a clean pot.
  • Pour your sauce into the peace
  • Turn with your wooden turner.

Your achicha ede and fio_fio is ready for consumption.

Admist all we can't stop feeding entirely we have to minimize our budget and hope for the best
