If you are not an artist and need a very personal portfolio-like cover image for your Hive post, you can use Canva.

Canva is an image and cover/poster creator. And it will make your cover images look professional.

Unlike many other desktop image editors, Canva offers a variety of free templates and makes it easy for you to share your work.

There are also templates for multiple social networks. If you want to scale your image or cover photo to the right size, Canva can help.

With Canva, you can have a FREE account and use most of the websites, templates, and sharing options. And there is a paid version that offers even more.

There are desktop apps for Mac and Windows. If you are mobile, you can use the iPhone or Android app.

I prefer to create cover images from elements on the page and free background images with attribution. Or I just use a gradient background or pattern as a background. This works great. If you need more for your posts, there are also GIFs, animations, and presentations.

GIFs are pretty big in my experience, so better host them on Giphy after you shrink them down.
