The news

Tomorrow Hive will be a full year old. About a month after Justin Sun bought Steemit the community decided his kind of control was not what they wanted. We are still here and going strong with $Hive at its highest since just after it started. There was a brief time when it was higher, but I think we will surpass even that in time.

Some people have pledged to buy some extra $Hive to mark this anniversary. Will you join in? I have ready to power up.

• @csgeekdev is new here and is posting some technical articles on system administration. There is always something to learn.
• @normie.fitness provides lots of tips on what really works when it comes to exercise and diet to counter the rampant misinformation out there.
• @sidekickmatt draws superheroes both familiar and original. His latest could be the saviour of Hive.
• @grindle is an urban explorer who joined Hive about a year ago and is already a dolphin thanks to great posts that are fun to read.
• @meno is someone I met in Krakow a couple of years back. He has been away from Hive for a while, but is back now with more of this thoughts on life and finance.

User discovery can be a weak point of this platform, but you can help by sharing suggestions. Why not do your own #followfriday posts? Let me know if you do.

The doghouse

The anti-abuse community have been working recently to cancel out the ill-gotten rewards of a network of accounts. They are using the votes of accounts that were hacked (probably by phishing).

They all seem to be sending their rewards to this account. The amounts are not huge, but would be worse if we do nothing. This sort of activity has to be dealt with to prevent it increasing. In this case the risk of retaliation is minimal, so give it all you have!

I noticed that some of the non-posting accounts on the Brit List are voting for the above. I already made contact with a friend of one to see if they can reclaim it. They probably only have posting keys, so changing your keys will lock them out. If you see anyone you know voting for the abusers let them know.
