The News

As it is first of the month it is HivePUD (Hive Power Up Day). You can get a badge and a chance at some prizes if you increase your HP.

It has been an interesting week for $HIVE as Korean investors went a little crazy for it. It was ranking around 150 on Coingecko and 100 on Coinmarketcap for a while. It has retreated a bit, but is still doing better than most coins, including Bitcoin. We just need to get back to where we were a few short months ago. HBD has taken a slight hit, but is pretty good at getting back to the peg, so those with lots of savings need not worry.

The next hardfork may be at the end of this month. It should bring a few upgrades.

A previous change means that witness votes from inactive accounts will stop having an effect with around now. If you update those votes or vote on proposals then you will be okay, but some witnesses may drop down the rankings. Some of them are actually not doing anything, so this is important. Be sure to check your witness votes or set a proxy you trust to do so.

Talking of proposals, here are a couple I support:

  • @HiveSQL provides a great source of data for people who want to analyse what happens on Hive. It needs funding to allow for free access.
  • @risingstargame has grown into a community of thousands of players. Their proposal will pay the developers and allow for some marketing. Such games are a great way to get started on Hive.

The End

No Doghouse this week, but keep an eye out for abuse and fraud on Hive. It needs to be reported.

I know people are making their plans for @Hivefest. The hotels have been announced and there will be some tickets to be won. A few friends have told me they are going too. I have booked my hotel and will sort out travel soon. I plan to take the train. We are just waiting for news of the event tickets. These will probably be priced in $HIVE and may have different tiers according to what you can afford. I know they try to make it inclusive. It you cannot get there then look into organising something local to you. Even two Hivers meeting in a pub counts and can be productive.

Hive five!
