A few days ago, I mentioned that I was starting a new series called Silver Stack Photography. The focus of the series is to share silver coin and bar photographs with the HIVE community and share a bit of my personal story weaved into each post. As I stated in my previous post, I am going to allow myself a lot more freedom and creative license with this series.

"Some posts in the series might focus on a specific coin or bar, while other posts might display a collection of coins or bars. Some posts might follow a specific theme while others will appear to be a bit random. 😜"

In this series, I intend to be more free flowing in my writing style and how I choose to present the coins and bars for the photos. The posts will include personal stories and experiences that I have gone through in my life. I will share, to the best of my memory, where I bought a specific coin or bar, and the associated backstory if there is one. I look forward to take you on this journey, I know I am personally going enjoy reliving these stories and capturing those memories in words, so that I can look back on them in the weeks, months and years ahead.

Introduction

I started stacking silver, just after the Global Financial Crisis. My initial interest in the metal was for its investment quality as it is a fantastic store of value, that has proven its worth through all economic seasons. Over the years I have really started to enjoy the hobby of collecting unique and rare silver pieces more and more. I was chatting to my wife the other day, where I shared with her that the HIVE platform through my love of writing has contributed in a massive way to my increased enjoyment of collecting silver. Everyday I now get the opportunity to write about the shiny metal, sharing my musings with like minded stackers and collectors. I find it so rewarding when a post I have written receives a positive comment or upvote from a fellow stacker and even more rewarding when it is from someone new to silver who has had their interest piqued by one of my posts, a potential 'future stacker'.

For this particular Silver Stack Photography post I have take a few photos that capture my two current passions, Silver Stacking and HIVE. The post has four photos that focus on four HIVE projects that I use every single day, probably more often than any of the other HIVE dApps. For the words to go with the photos, I thought why not write a post that shows my appreciation for silver and at the same time shows my appreciation for four HIVE projects that have helped me to build strong daily returns. The great thing about the returns generated by using these HIVE projects, is that one day I will be able to use them to fund my future silver coin and bar purchases, it is the perfect win-win scenario.

Photo 1: @cubfinance and The 1992 1oz Silver - Gold - Platinum Proof Set

The first photo I'd like to share, features my CUB-BUSD Liquidity Pool on @cubfinance, look at all those little CUB tokens earned, almost harvest time I reckon. I am still very new to Cubdefi.com, but I do not quite have the words to express how excited I am about the short to mid-term potential and opportunity in this space for amazing returns. When Kingdoms and LeoBridge are launched in the near future by @khaleelkazi and the team, I tink things could get wild... I can't wait!

In the foreground of the photo is the 1992 1oz Proof Set by The Perth Mint containing a 1oz Silver Kookaburra, a 1oz Gold Kangaroo and a 1oz Platinum Koala coin. This is actually one of the first precious metal pieces I ever bought. This set is very collectable and still one of my all time favourites for both sentimental reasons and for the fact that it has turned out to be an amazing investment piece at today's precious metal prices.

I believe my CUB tokens that are piling up in my Liquidity Pool will be an amazing investment that I look back on with fondness too.

Photo 2: @ecency, a 1kg Silver Bar and 1oz Silver Koalas

The second photo features my most recent post on @ecency about the 1oz Silver 2018 Australian Kookaburra coin. I would like to make a special shout-out to @good-karma, the founder of Ecency.com. I love the Ecency platform for its ease of use, simplicity and general good performance. Thank you to you and your team for creating such a quality posting platform. I also particularly like the Ecency Points feature on platform that allows you to promote your posts and gift points to others. I must say I also think Ecency has the best search function on the HIVE platform, it is where I do all my searches for posts.

In the foreground of the photo is a Matthey Garrett vintage 1kg Silver bar and four 1oz Silver Koala coins from various years. The vintage 1kg Silver bar I picked up from a local, well-known bullion dealer in Australia. My account manager at the bullion dealer knew I loved rare and unique silver pieces for my stack, so whenever he got a trade in of vintage silver he would give me a call to see if I was ready to buy. That was a fun period and I got some great vintage silver bars during that time.

The 1kg Silver bars represents how solid @ecency is as a platform and the four 1oz Silver Koala coins represent my Ecency Points bulding up to be used in the future.

Photo 3: @leofinance and a Cling of Silver Koalas

The third photo features a photo of a post I wrote and published 5 days ago on @leofinance. I have so much appreciation for the innovative projects that @khaleelkazi and the @leofinance team have already released and everything that are still planning to release as per their roadmap. Leofinance has established themselves as a quality brand, with professional products, that are supported by ongoing clear and concise communication with the LEO Tribe. @khaleelkazi and @leofinance are definitely trail-blazing the way forward on HIVE, I am sure a number of the other HIVE Tribes will learn from their success and emulate them in their own ways. As a show of my appreciation, I support the @leofinance team in the the best way I can with my delegation to @leo.voter. I am about to up my delegation to @leo.voter by another 500HP. The future looks so bright and exciting, thank to you so much for your hard work.

In the foreground of the photo is a cling on 1oz and 1/2 Koalas from various years. I was not sure what the collective name for a group of koalas was, but apparently it is a 'cling'. I have been collecting Koala coins from the beginning of my silver stacking journey. I am currently doing a 'featured coin' series about the Koala coins issued over the years, the 2009 Australian Koala was the featured coin for the post in the photo.

The six 1oz Koala coins in the bottom row represent my Hive Power delegation to @leo.voter, the four 1/2oz Koalas in the top row represent my daily LEO Token earnings paid out by @leo.bounties.

Photo 4: @peakd and The Republic of Panama Proof Set

The fourth and final photo features my profile on @peakd. There are so many great features and functions on @peakd. I love drafting all of my posts using @peakd as it allows me to save my progress as I write. Not only that, if I find I have a lot of time on my hands, I can write a batch of posts, save them as drafts and then schedule them to auto-post at the most appropriate times, brilliant! Another feature that I have not used use yet that I can see being very powerful is Templates, I plan to develop some reusable templates for different series of posts. Thank you for the great job you have done and continue to do @asgarth, @jarvie, @dmytrokorol and the rest of your team.

The foreground of the photo shows a 1975 Republic of Panama Proof Set. I remember when and where I bought this set so clearly, I saw it listed on a website called gumtree.com.au. I normally would not buy precious metals from gumtree.com.au or from a person I did not already know. In this particular case however, I could tell from the items in the listing that they were genuine. I also arranged a face to face meeting to do the trade and this allowed me to do all the appropriate checks, so that I could buy with confidence.

I thought this set was an appropriate representation for @peakd as it has a number of high quality proof coins that represent the many high quality features available on @peakd. The large coin in the centre of the set represents the blog editor of @peakd, it is the best in my opinion and stands out from all the others available.

I really enjoyed writing this post, I hope that you enjoy reading it. Stay tuned for the next post in the Silver Stack Photography series where I will share more silver photos and more personal stories.
