Let's put a bit in. Just the dip.

That was a nice little opportunity to make a quick turn around for the brave. How'd you fare?

My treatment sucks my energy for several days after and when I got home from work, I stole a 15 minute kip (nap) in the hope to gain a little energy to make it through the night. I generally only get "time to write" after everyone goes to sleep, or since we take it in turns, when my wife is putting my daughter to sleep - like now. This means I can start a post or perhaps finish one I began earlier - but normally it ends up that I post much later.

Anyway, after my nap I happened to flick over to the Binance app and saw that I had been rekt value-wise by a very fresh dip. Cool! So quickly passing my wife as I went saying "I won't be long" and heading to the PC to see what could be done - can I get a buy in?

Do I even have anything to buy with!?

I am never prepared enough for these events. Never.

However, I did message some colleagues and say, "Is this the dip you wanted?" in the hope that they would be able to pick something up. They were yesterday talking about getting BTC at 43,000, so if they had their buys set or pulled the trigger on the spot, they would have got their wish.

For me, I wasn't interested in BTC this time around though and was looking for something else - Anything else really. I ended up picking up some RUNE at 7.8 and turning it around at 9ish. That is not bad for a few minutes. I have another buy back in, but not sure it will get there, but am happy with the small gains - though ready to catch a dead cat. I did the same with HOT (Holo) and will see if I can get a little dip for a buyback on it too. If not, not the end of the world.

The amounts I am talking aren't going to whale me up, but still, they are large enough to feel the excitement of BTFD and satisfy my FOMO. At least now I can say, I didn't miss out completely.

For those who have been into crypto a while, these kinds of events are par for the course, so they might not rise the blood pressure so much - but getting the dip and making a bit, always feels pretty good - even if it isn't with numbers that trouble the scorers much.

Back in the day, watching these things happen and seeing the little value I held get slaughtered, would leave a know in my stomach and my head reeling - even though the loss numbers were counted in the hundreds of dollars. While I made a little in some quick trades tonight, the overall negative of the markets is far greater than I want to spend the time working out, so I will leave it at that and wait until the end of the year in the hope that these blips on the radar are molehills on mountains.

Even the end of this bullrun isn't the end goal, as while the foundation I have built is promising, it isn't the kind of thing that is rest of life sustaining, which means I have a fair bit of back and forth to go and it is more likely the following bullrun in a handful of years that will be the one that sets me up for life - but, I am kind of already set.

I don't mean in value or wealth, nor what I own - but I think quite a while ago, I resigned myself to a life of crypto. It isn't an easy life at this point and it is still filled with a lot of social stigma and ridicule, but it is one that I feel confident has value to participate in and the potential to improve the lives of many.

The "crypto life" encourages a lot of grey hair to grow, but it is definitely filled with excitement and if looking at it as entertainment, has got to be the best game on the internet and likely off the internet too. The sheer complexity of it and the implications of the dynamics in play are so much fun to play with - and it is only increasing. No one can consider it all already and soon, people are going to have to narrow where they play. For me it is obvious though - I play on Hive and I think that as the industry matures, many more will start to play here too. If you are going to go narrow, it is good to join a place where the community is always wide open.

So, was the latest dip a welcome opportunity for you?
