Is the winter in?

It looks like it is going to be an unfortunately early morning tomorrow, as it is snowing like hell and the only way I am going to be able to get Smallsteps to daycare, is to do the snow work first. I don't mind clearing it, but not at 7am and with the amount that is coming down, it is going to take 45 minutes to an hour. It is times like this that I miss living in an apartment building, though even then with all the buildings that needed clearing, it wasn't guaranteed it was done by the time I needed to go to work.

Such is life - you can't change the weather. Well, not in the immediate sense anyway.

There is so much snow that I am thinking of going out there now and doing some of it. But it is after midnight and that is not a tempting proposal either.

Speaking about cold blizzards - if this market keeps on keeping on the way it is, I am going to have to rug up and get ready to hibernate. I am not interested in selling anything at these prices, so who knows, it might be another couple years before there is a return to something respectable.

A shame as always, but also an opportunity to for many to participate in other ways. It could very well be that it will take a decent crypto winter to remind people that there is more to this than just trading the highs and lows on the exchanges. For example, look at all that happened on Hive during the last bear market - the most popular crypto game and, Hive was born - even though people were bidbotting, combatting over circlejerks and handling an incompetent core development team.

Looking at BTC as the leader, we might very well see around 30K again, but it is a good reminder that we have seen it a couple times in the last year already and each time, it has led into a quite volatile spring back, with highs coming around three months after.

Perhaps if it touches around 30 in the next week or two, we might see this by summer:

(what a great chart)

That'd be nice, wouldn't it?

Just think about how much silly "free" money will be floating out there with people flush, and looking to spend their gains on stupid.

How stupid are they willing to get?

It should be around now that we should start designing and ordering a kitchen if we plan on renovating in the summer, but with this much crypto uncertainty, I think I'd rather hold back on that for a while and instead keep collecting before spending anything that we don't have in our pocket.

One thing that is good about prices being down though, is that it becomes more attractive to put fiat in again, which is something I haven't done for a while, because the prices have been too high. After whatever bear market there is, before we come out the other side, I want to be a HIVE whale - but there is no chance I can do it at these prices. 10 cents though and perhaps I can scrape it through. LOL, I am guessing that no one wants 10c HIVE at the moment except those who say they will buy - but if it did hit that mark like it did just over a year ago, most won't buy anyway.

I still don't think that we have seen the expected bull market as BTC has been moving pretty well sideways for most of the last 12 months still - which means either it hasn't happened and will "soon", or it was a non-even and is still some time away. I was hoping for that explosive volcanic top that blew crypto lave high into the sky - but that hasn't happened.

Maybe the markets are losing their volatility, or perhaps they are just currently suppressed by the looming threat of war on the back of high inflation and expected interest rate hikes. Maybe people are looking to capitalize on the expected falls in the traditional markets, so are wary of getting too much risk exposure in crypto. Who knows?

What I do know is that while I am willing to ride it out to the ne next bull before cashing anything at all, I am also a bit tired of waiting to see some gains from the amount of work to get to this point. I think I will be pretty happy when I can actually buy something real with it - so will my wife.

Perhaps I will invest in an engine driven snow plough.

Maybe not. Still, things can change rapidly in crypto, so while things might feel bleakish at the moment, just remember where we were a year ago in regards to HIVE price and know that it could all change in the matter of a week or two...

Up or down.

:D

It is still snowing, perhaps the bed is calling louder than the yard.
