This year people finally saw what many "conspiracy theorists" were saying for years. It appears that many are having a more difficult time trusting what they are being told. The world around them seems to be crumbling.

Over the last decade, the trust in the mainstream news diminished. For a long time, the large media outlets were the source of news. While we didn't have many options, the reality was they did have fact checking desks and, to a degree, did try to report what was happening. Certainly, they might have been fed a line of b.s. which made it into the stories but at least the intent was there. Journalism, especially investigative, served a purpose.

Contrast that with today. The media entities all point to the internet sites as "fake news". Of course, much of what we see online is totally fabricated. However, that does not absolve the new outlets of their behavior. The fact is there are no more fact checking desks or foreign correspondents. Instead, they simply take what is told to them and run it as factual.

We also saw an election in the United States that a large portion of the population feels was bogus. The fact that it was not even looked into by the supposed "purveyors of truth" is what is most concerning.

Finally we get the entire COVID-19 situation. Was is a failed biological weapon? Is it as deadly as they say? How come independent journalists, the few that are still around, are arrested for filming hospitals that are not overflowing?

We saw social media companies radically alter their policies. Censorship is alive and well. They went and zapped anything that questioned the mainstream narrative.

Outside the most ardent supporter of these entities, who are usually the most naive of the lot, many are starting to wonder whether we can believe what is being said. Essentially, trust in our institutions is being lost.

So where do we go to trust in a trustless world?

This is where blockchain and decentralization enter the picture. The fact that millions are being exposed to the fallacy that is before us is the truly "waking" moment. After all, does anyone really trust these major centralized institutions with our data? It is amazing how Twitter's actions during the election made everyone forget that it suffered a major hack during the year. Does anyone buy into the idea they corrected the problem and it cannot happen again?

Governments are spending money like it is going out of style. The U.K is contemplating going into a lockdown for 3 months. If it does this, what is going to happen to the economy? The only way to avoid mass starvation is to give people money to survive. Countries cannot afford that.

Just ask the Greeks how this story ends up. They recently lived through where this goes. Imagine waking up one day and the banks are closed. They say they will open up in a couple weeks, but that gets extended. You and your money are not to be reunited.

We see this same story playing out all over the planet. Country after country experienced this over the last few decades. Sadly, the list keeps growing.

Those who trust the government or, worse, politicians, are complete fools. The plan is out in the open now. Those who still have trust are the most blind to what is taking place. There is an orchestrated attack on small businesses, individual families, and each person's money.

Throughout the media we are told how things that do not fit that narrative are fake. The mantra that Bitcoin, and by extension cryptocurrency, is fake still is pursued. Ironic that the "rat poison" as Warren Buffett calls it was able to top is company in market cap just last week.

People were lulled to sleep over decades. In the West, the debt level is absurd. Leaving aside government spending, the debt load that the individual family is carrying is asinine. Do people really have that frail an ego that they just need to keep spending money they don't have to try and impress other people? Or do they just feel entitled to it?

The centralized system is one of control. When power is centralized, it is easy to wield. The worst thing for a power structure is the idea of decentralization. When things spread out on a horizontal basis, it is impossible exert influence over people. This is why the present corporate structure is top-down.

What lies at the core is all this is failing people. While those in many parts of the world already knew this, the West is starting to really feel the effects. Over the last few decades, it was steadily moving in that direction yet the burner is really being turned up now.

This means that what one could trust and depend upon is being exposed as either fake or completely against the best wishes of the individual. Essentially, it is coming to bite them in the ass.

Calls for free money are all over the place. The sad reality is when it is in the hands of the government and politicians, it ends up being a very bad outcome.

The number of people on disability in the United States exploded. Certainly, there are many who suffer ailments that make it completely impossible to work. However, there are many who simply milk the system to get a check. The question I have is do you know anyone who depends upon disability to survive? How is their existence?

We see the same thing with Social Security. Do you know anyone who survives on their Social Security check alone? Their life is miserable. They have no money and are always broke. It is the proverbial running out of money before running out of month.

Now we have calls for Universal Basic Income. The key word there is "basic". It is not meant to be universal "this is all the money you get" income. In the U.S., it was proposed to sent each adult $1,000 a month. That is $12K per year. If that is all the money someone has coming in, then it is not going to get that person very far in most parts of the country.

Of course, if many of the jobs are destroyed, we see this as the sole source of that person's income. How is life going to look?

The scary part is this is only in place until a new set of politicians arrive and are confronted with major financial problems. Then they start figuring out ways to cut money out.

Do you really want your ability to survive in the hands of these psychopaths?

This is the result of a centralized world. No matter what the system, we end up in a tyrannical state. Republics are no different than communism. They start out at different stages but end up moving in that direction. As they say, when the masses start to vote themselves a check, at the expense of others, the path is already laid. It was repeated throughout history.

Decentralization offers a completely different path. One of the most vital areas of cryptocurrency over the next few years is in the area of governance. This technology was born in the digital era, operating in the online world. As our real world starts to merge even more with this medium, new governance models are available.

And most of us are aware that they are sorely needed.

Many will still feel what I am writing here is total garbage. That is fine. What is important is that number is less than it was a year or two ago.

If one doubts this, just talk to some of those people in Argentina, Greece, Cyprus, Venezuela, or Turkey and get their opinion of things. They are further down the path of corruption than the rest of us are. However, it is a model that the West is following.

At the core of a lot of this is money. In our world, like it or not, money is power. This is what our entire power structure is built upon. Some will say it is jails and guns but how are those acquired?

By decentralizing our money, and breaking up the monopolies that governments have over the creation of it, we then are entering a new era. The challenge before us is to grow a system that is large enough to operate outside the present system. This is where the power acquired through money will be negated.

For this to happen, people need to wake up to what is taking place. If they can control all the money you have and your means to acquire it, then it is game over.

It is the end result of a centralized model.
