There was no announcement during the AMA but it was evident that a relationship was being forged between the two platforms.

Let us discuss some of the AMA that took place yesterday.

To start, shoutout to @justineh who, from what I understand, put together the event. It is obvious she was able to reach out and make contact with the exchange.

Secondly, I need to commend @roelandp for the answers he gave to the questions. He thoroughly explained the tenets of Hive and what we stand for. There were a number of questions pertaining to what made Hive different which I think he handled very well.

The point of the AMA was to keep getting Hive exposure. This is marketing 101. Not everything results in immediate activity but lays for foundation for more to come.

Obviously, building a relationship with the Huobi team is a great idea. However, it is also a good move to target their users. After all, that is what Huobi is doing with us.

A key point about the AMA is that it was broadcast on Huobi's Telegram and Twitter accounts. This means the event was viewed by some outside of the Hive ecosystem. If nothing else, it did plant a seed.

Of course, in this instance, there was some action taken by Huobi although I am not sure it is a result of the AMA (certainly that didn't hurt).

Huobi announced that it is listing Hive.

Here is their announcement.

They are also kind enough to run a contest around the token.

This does appear to have some impact on the token.

I am convinced the cryptocurreny industry is watching to see how a true community driven initiative fares. Look at most other blockchains and there is a foundation or individual heading it up. Hive does not have a face nor an entity behind it. Instead, it is just a group of dedicated people doing something they believe in.

Adding another exchange, especially one in the East is a big step. We know cryptocurrency is big in that part of the world and now users of Huobi will be able to access HIVE. It also gives BEES (Hivers? What are we?) another avenue which to trade.

This is some of the basic foundation that is being laid. Roeland did mention during the AMA about Smart Media Tokens (Hive Media Tokens?) coming out. He did not want to commit to a time frame which is fine. It is good to know that this is on the developers radar and is being tested.

I bring this up because tokens created using that protocol will have an easier time getting on Huobi and other exchanges that carry HIVE since it is the same. That was one of the biggest advantages to the SMT protocol.

It is very exciting to see how things are progressing.
