The situation with Justin Sun provied the resiliency of Hive. It is very powerful when a community is willing to step out and move elsewhere.

In this video I discuss how Hive is immune from a money attack. We are dealing with a weapon that can be ignited if we are attacked again.

I think the hard fork revolution was necessary to define the Hive identity and what it stands for. And having that in our "history" will be an element that will live in time and will ensure the survival and thriving of this platform: it has values, it has beliefs, it has freedom!

It was certainly a defining moment for hive. Felt like Mel Gibson in the movie the patriot lol

I remember the purchase by Justin Sun, and the huge disappointment with a lost opportunity to couple his amazing attention getting behavior with the great commmunity and system of Steemit/DPOS. Humans sometimes mess things up.
It all ended quite badly.

But... I agree with yu, that a similar attack would not be launched today, due to the risk of a repeat fork, and the doubling of people's stake from the fork. It would almost be welcomed by the people who don't have to fork the dapps.

It sounds like the hard fork was something that a lot of people were uncertain about back when hive broke off from steem. It does make sense if hard forks only really happened with Bitcoin and BCH.
