LeoGlossary is a project that was started just 9 days ago.

The idea of this is two-fold:

  • to provide a resource center on Leofinance (Hive) which will provide valuable information to people
  • to give Leofinance users an easy way to optimize their content to build internal links so that Leofinance ranks higher in the search engines

After all, type in any financial related term and you will see Investopedia as one of the page 1 results. At the same time, go with just about anything and you will see Wikipedia high on the list of results.

The reason for this is, in part, due to the fact they have links upon links internally. You could bounce around Wikipedia the rest of your life and still not dent all the pages they have linked.

This is what LeoGlossary is doing.

That said, we are getting a few results already. The other day we posted how we got our first Google link and referral.

It is nice to get some feedback so quickly.

Today, we even topped that.

While we know Bing.com is not as well used as Google, it is still one of the major search engines.

This is what we see on the Simpleanalytics:

In clicking through we see this:

Thus far, not too much excitement. In fact, it is difficult to even make out the link.

It is actually a link to Great Financial Crisis. Here is where it gets interesting.

Take a wild guess where the Great Financial Crisis link on Leofinance.io ranks.

This should help clarify it:

Isn't that amazing?

It is top link.

Naturally Bing is somehow correlating the fact that the Leofinance post has "mid 2007 through 2009" in it and tying it to that book. Either way, we will take it.

As an aside, let's affirm the link a bit.

Go to Bing.com and type in Great Financial Crisis. When you see the article link come up, click on it. Let's get it some throughput to see if we can let Bing know we exist.

One of the major premises of this projects is to build the layers of internal links.

Right now the Main Menu page is nearly 300 terms on it. Each of this has a link to the description of the word or phrase.

When you click on them, there are link contained in the writeup to other key words also on the main menu. This will usually average around 6-10 with some topping 25. Of course, since this is posted through the Leofinance front end, the customary link to the main page is automatically placed.

The final link in each of these is back to the Main Menu meaning the write up has a link to a page with near 300 links.

Of course, the key is all more is added, the numbers grow exponentially. This is how Wikipedia can have links in the hundreds of millions, if not billions.

What You Can Do

The most important thing for the community on Leofinance to do is to take the links and put them in your articles and comments. This is how we are going to keep the cycle growing.

One can start with the next post (article or comment) that is made. Bookmark the Main Menu page for easy reference. Also, it is helpful to go through older articles and optimize them.

Just think of how many times each day we, as a community, write these terms:

As you can see, all have links.

There is another point to mention. The keyword is actually in the URL which will help with the search engines.

So each time you use one of these words in a comment, be sure to link it.

This is how we are going to push the ranking of Leofinance forward.

Also, it is a good idea to take some of these links and post them across social media. It is helpful to get some links coming back into Leofinance.

So there is the latest update.
