I agree with you. The urban areas had a monopoly on the good paying jobs for the most part. That attracted people there.

The work from home movement can be looked as just another example of the shift towards decentralization. You are right, if that is truly the direction, we will see the appeal of the larger cities diminish.

This could crush the real estate market in those areas.
