The "control or eliminate it" is from their perspective.

As I wrote in the past, cryptocurrency is similar to another ledger based system that existed for more than 70 years called the Eurodollar system. It is a system of lending and borrowing based upon money created by banks on top of the Eurodollar. It is outside the reach of any central bank or government.

We are seeing the same thing. I doubt very likely they have a prayer at stopping what is taking place.
