I think we are decades away from the Metaverse. What we are seeing now is all hype. Sure there are some legit technologies that are going to keep growing, like AR. However, it is not going to be overnight and certainly will be a while before we see the edge computing power to create the worlds described.

For now, I see Web 3.0 as a better topic of discussion because that is starting to unfold in many ways. We are seeing a redesign of data along with the idea of different business structures.
