There's a growing change in preference on how quite alot of people currently involved in crypto want to retire or spend their retirement. This change is from the conventional idea of investing in real estate and then earning from it during retirement and hopefully passing on the assets to offsprings when we're no more to owning crypto asset, making money from them during retirement and then finally passing it on.

As for investing in real estate, this has been my long time dream way before I found cryptos, but currently , I'm not exactly sure if it is as profitable and peaceful as it always appeared for a retirement. Here's the deal, you go through all that stress to get some landed properties, probably pay for the building and spend more on renovation, then pay a couple people for paper works as it is done here and then start earning in fiat, which I my opinion is a bad idea considering the performance of fiat in my country. The only inportance of investing in real estate to me right now is that you'd probably stop paying rent and your kids / family could have access to some physical assets in case there's the incident of sudden death.

Depending on crypto on the other hand could be like this: keep investing in cryptos, make more money on your own as no one knows how much you're really worth, stake your cryptos on platforms like Hive as HBD for a guaranteed 20% APR, keep compounding and just keep living off the interest till and during retirement. Well, this is just a scenario but appears quite peaceful to me and more profitable. The only issue here is the case of a hack, lost of keys, or changes in protocol.

After thinking deeply about both options, I feel it is best to get involved with both, like have assets as cryptos and in real estate for retirement. Cryptos should help make the money making process faster and real estate could help ensure that I do have a physical asset that could be handed over to my family incase of any unforseen event, and it should definetly keep me active.

Which is your references for retirement ?
