Appearing before your target when it come to business
There is this popular saying that state that it is the way that you dress that you will be addressed. Imagine going to meet a prospect and you are looking so unkept. Funny enough, you are bidding for that $10 million dollar contract and you also have others running after such opportunities, do you think you will be given such opportunity? Even though you are the most competent one there, just because of your appearance they will give it to another person. They will think that if they gives you the opportunity that you will embezzle it and at the end you won't be able to complete the project.
Don't play with appearance, good appearance can win's you alot of things in life. You have to make sure that you are always dressing nicely and decent, remember that your appearance is how you will be addressed. I was also watching a movie some months back and I learnt a lot from it. The educational part was all about business, how to start and how to market it. I was thought on not to ever be contented with what you have, they let me knows that I should go out from my comfort zone and share with people what my business is all about.
I told that while I am on my way to meet prospect I should take a proper look at my self and should asked myself if my dress is meaningful in my sight. You have to make sure that your dress is appealing because it will makes you more presentable. For you not to confuse yourself, you can easily ask your neighbour if what you are wearing is good or not. Just asked him if you are good to go or not. Your appearance have to be meaningful, with this you will be able to convince those people that you are good to run the supply business for them.
Imagine you arrive with a good car and neat dress, you don't need to talk much, you will see them trying to give you listening ears and they will love to do business with you. This is why your appearance matters a lot when you are approaching your prospect in business and life in general. Whatsoever you are doing, try tk make sure you are presentable. While writing this post this story that my friend told me ran into my head. He said it is a true life story because it happened to him. He said when he was 25 years of age, he went to two companies who he was trying to meet in other to present his company with them so that they can start patronizing him. Funny enough he met his friend there and he discovered that his friend was running same business as his.
Well, they both met and exchange pleasantries. He was not bothered but something happened. He dressed so simple while his friend came with a jeep car and well dress. Looking so presentable. He said he was the first person that got to the venue but it was his first that was attended to first. They later manage to call him in and he was able to present a lot of things better than his friend own but at the end of everything, his friend was chosen over him. His friend went up being their supplier along the line while him that have all the qualification and good experience wasn't given. His appearance disqualified him.
As from that day, he learnt a big lesson which is to always package himself before going out for any project. After some few months he bought a car and decided to try what his friend did and he discovered that it worked perfectly for him, he was made a supplier to Levant construction company, this made him very rich. From this man story you should learn that dressing amazingly is important in business, people will always love to patronize you because of how package you are.
The above logic is being applied in banks too. If you observe you will see them looking all cute whenever they wants to go and hunt for customers. They knows if they dress badly, nobody will give them listening hears. This their tactics have been working right from time.
With all that I have said above, we can see that we don't need to be deliberating that much, the way you dress is the way you will be addressed. As a business man it is advisable that you always look good, this will have impact in your business as you progresses along the line.
