Marketing strategy - The driving force of every business
There is no way you can be a successful business man without applying a marketing strategy or goal. When building your business, you should have that on your mind. Marketing Strategy is the thing that can give your business a good stand. Remember the aim of almost every business is to make profit. If there is no key marketing strategy in place that business might die. Take a look at #banks, you might think they have lots of money, why are they still doing or engaging on marketing. If I may ask, who doesn't love making more profit/money? I believe nobody. Banks wants to make more and more money, they need more marketers to help them acheive that aim.
Sorry to cut you short, have you seen bank marketers before? The ladies are always looking so cute. So I believe if you are ugly, don't bother aplying for bank marketing job, the chance of you getting chosen is slim. But not an advice, you can give it a try. I am not here to get you discouraged.
So if bank deploy such strategy, you should know within you that your business needs marketing also. By marketing your business, you are helping to share it to a wider audience. Mind you, before you embark on marketing, you should learn to make it a strategic marketing. I.e learn to make research about places, if they will love your product there. If your business will be accepted there, go ahead and shoot your shot. If you are selling books and other educational related material, have it in your mind that it will sell in an area dominated by student. Take that your business to a university environment and see how the growth will multiply. You can see that this is the marketing strategy we are talking about. You know that the entire environment need books and student related material, with you able to get that sorted for them, your business will hit apex. This is what we called marketing strategy.
What is marketing strategy?
With the above being said, I believe we have gotten what the concept marketing strategy really means but for those who still don't get it, permit me to explain what it is.
Marketing strategy can be defined as the process or strategy which is being applied in other to push or promote our business for the core purpose of profit making. Mind you, the reason for marketing your business is to give it more exposure so as to be able to make more profit from it.
Why is marketing strategy important?
Just like as I have hinted above, business marketing is needed in every business. It helps to give your business the needed exposure. This exposure will in return yield you more profit.
If you open a business and didnt promote it, it will only get a smaller audience and your progress won't be massive. This might need your business to suffer from finanacial need in long run if you have people working for you. You need to give your business that marketing push if you want to expect any financial support from it. If you want to keep your business on a better scale it is important you give it that needed marketing push.
Ways on how you can carry out your marketing strategy?
Below are some of the ways which you can use to carry out your marketing strategy. They include;
i. Target marketing: While embarking on marketing, target marketing is one thing you should key into. First of all, make research and see if the people in that environment will be interested in your business, if they do then go ahead and promote your business to them. You will surely make good sales from it.
ii. Internet marketing: The internet is one of the best way to promote your business right now. Whatapp, facebook, Instagram, twitter, #hive etc are cool platform where you can promote your business and get a good feedback in return.
Take a look at Jumia for example, they use facebook to promote their online market and right now, everybody knows about them. You can buy from them by paying online and you will get your product. If what you got is not what you ordered, you can apply for refund, you will be given your money back and after that, you can re-order. You can see how they make use of the internet and at the end, they ended up building trust with customers.
iii. Text marketing: You can send text to all the people on your contact list. Don't send it all the time, just once will be enough, so it doesn't look spammy. This will help to market your business to friends and family members.
iv. Face to face marketing: Before you should embark on this act, make sure that you have your complementary card available. Immediately you meet anybody you now, feel free to share your card with them and also talk about your business. This will sell your business outside as more people will be aware you are into certain business.
