After a brief interruption due to me being completely destroyed by my second COVID shot, It's time for another #crypthursday, where we will take a look at some of the most relevant crypto facts of the past 7 days. The focus will always be on what's going on at the Hive blockchain but eventually, I'll talk about other stuff too, if I consider them to be relevant enough.

My intention with this is to try and share relevant information but I also see this as a learning journey for myself, so if you spot any mistakes or would like to contribute with your own opinion do not hesitate to leave a comment!

Yet another good crypto week

Source: CoinGecko

Not a bad week for crypto! Not bad at all. Most of the coins I follow are in the green and it looks like we could have some very good news in the next few days as BTC could test 50k again and ETH approaches the 4k mark.

My beloved RUNE is struggling a bit around the 10 dollar mark, but I'm still bullish on its long-term potential.

HIVE has been doing very well too and we could see 0.60 soon. Can it find good support there? We'll see.

Cakepop IDO fully committed

The first of a series of Initial DEX Offerings (IDOs) on CubFinance was a very good start for the platform.

It's too soon to tell if Cakepop will make it or break it, but for CUB and CubFinance it was a success. Not only it was the biggest CUB burning event yet but it also went very smoothly on "our" end.

There are some questions regarding the Cakepop project and token distribution and smarter people already wrote about them in much more detail than I ever could so for those who are interested in knowing more about the IDO aftermath, I will just point you to this great post by @edicted and this very comprehensive analysis by @jerrythefarmer.

I didn't participate in this IDO myself but I think the outcome was very positive to the future of CUB and I'm looking forward to the next ones.

Leo Market Talk Engagement Contest

The @leomarkettalk daily post is an initiative to try and bring the most engagement possible to LeoFinance and during the month of September, @taskmaster4450le, the creator of Leo Market Talk, is promoting a contest that will reward the top commenters on the daily posts of @leomarkettalk.

Make sure to check out the rules in the official announcement post, but they are pretty straightforward: show up and engage with others by commenting on the post everyday.

There is one important detail though: the rewards will only be paid if we reach at least 10,000 comments for the month so it's going to take a collective effort for us to get there!

If you're not convinced yet, here are some of the reasons why you should be visiting @leomarkettalk on a daily basis:

  • You get a chance of winning the contest
  • You get a chance of getting juicy upvotes by Taskmaster and others on your comments everyday
  • You get to engage with other members of the community, learn about crypto and make yourself known around here

I guess by now it should be a no-brainer, so show up and get the comments going!

Pick of the week

This time my pick of the week is going to be a little different. Instead of a particular article, I'm going to highlight a service to the community by one of the nicest guys on Hive: @abh12345.

Not only Asher is the guy behind The Hive Engagement League and the Leo Finance Engagement, he will also do your personal Monthly Hive Report!

In the words that are often attributed to Peter Drucker: "You Can't Manage What You Can't Measure" so if you are interested in knowing how you are doing on Hive, make sure to ask him for your personal report.

He does it all for free, but give him your best upvote because he really deserves it!

We're almost done but we still have to announce the "menu" for tomorrow's #cocktailfriday!

And the winner is...

The Rusty Nail

This is one of my personal favorites, even though it's unknown to many people. It's a mix of scotch and Drambuie, which is a liquor made with scotch and honey, so it really packs a nice punch.

It's not hard to do so let's take a log at what you're gonna need:

Ingredients 1 1/2 ounces scotch 3/4 ounce Drambuie

Instructions Add the scotch and Drambuie into a mixing glass with ice and stir until well-chilled. If you don't have a mixing glass, you can use any glass.

Strain into a rocks glass over one large ice cube.

See?! Can't get any easier than that!

And this is a warp, guys! I'm glad to be back with #crypthursdays and I'm looking forward to seeing you all next week!
