Unless you've been on another planet for the past hours, you have most certainly heard about GameStop, WSB, and everything that happened in the last few days.

I'm not gonna get into the details because many others here on Leo explained the situation way better than I ever would and also because I want to focus on another side of the situation, which is the way that companies like Discord, Reddit, and RobinHood responded to it.

Allegedly, all the companies above (and some others, from what I've read) took action to stop the movement lead by the group known as Wall Street Bets. The thing is, this is just wrong.

I'm no expert but I've heard from many sources that what the retail traders were doing is not illegal per se, but can we say the same about Discord banning people or RobinHood shutting down people from trading certain stocks? Personally, I find that very disturbing.

I don't use Robinhood as I believe they don't operate in my country but, if I did, I guess I'd seriously reconsider.

Anyway, let me know what you think about all of this and also if I said something wrong.

See you next time
