November is over and I just finished the 30 day HiveBloPoMo challenge. It was a 30 day challenge from @traciyork to blog everyday for the month of November. I didn't use the #hiveblopomo hashtag every day, but I did blog every day.

For the most part it was a great experience. I did find it challenging to find fresh, engaging content daily. I have a lot of respect for the people that can do this everyday.

I did find little tricks to come up with daily content though. Regular weekly themes like #musicmonday, #beersaturday and #followfriday posts helped a lot. By finding a few weekly theme challenges I was only left to find 3 or 4 topics to blog about throughout the week. This helped immensely.

The entire thing was a really positive experience for me. I spent a lot more time on HIVE, commenting and searching content. I also found a lot of additional happenings on our chain. I discovered projects like @dbuzz and @leofinance and learned a little about trading on LeoDex and staking tokens.

For the most part my follower count has stayed dormant for several months. I really don't pay attention to that and I'm not sure where I stated at exactly but I did manage to see a small boost in my follower count. I know I gained well over 10 followers so that was pretty cool. Thank you all for tolerating my posts in your feed 🤣

Another really positive thing that happened was engagement on my posts went WAY UP! I've felt my posts have lacked engagement for a long time. That seemed to change this month and I'm guessing it's because my activity had increased as well. That's the one thing I've known about HIVE for a long time. You get out of this platform, exactly what you put into it. If you put in the time, you will reap the benefits of rewards and engagement. So putting in the effort really seemed to help last month and the result spoke for themselves in the form of rewards, engagement and follower count.

I think the best thing that came from taking the challenge was creating the habit of blogging daily. After the first ten days or so it just felt more natural and seemed to come a little easier. I enjoyed blogging daily but by the end of the month, it was a bit exhausting. I try not to force posts and at times I felt like I was forcing it a bit.

I think I'll continue to try and post daily content but instead of posting a couple times a week, I'd like to try and post at least 4 or 5 days a week now. Just taking off a couple days a week, when I'm just not feeling it.

That was the other thing I learned as well. I'd like to take a couple days a week just to focus on comments and engaging with other accounts. When you start getting lots of engagement it can get a little confusing and hard to keep up with it all. Taking a couple days a week off to review posts and looking for any missed comments seems like a worthy endeavor. I really do try and answer or like every comment and reply.

The other nice thing about this was watching my HP HivePower grow daily. With the added engagement, curation, and posting you can watch that HP HivePower rise quickly.

Most of the posts I wrote did alright as far as payouts. Some obviously do better than others but that's how this work. We have to take the good with the bad. One post might make a couple HIVE another might make a fraction of HIVE. That's just how it goes.

I've recently come across some other blogging challenges and after this experience, I will definitely do this again. December is always a crazy time of the year with the holdiays and everything. Right after the first of the year, I'm probably going to try another 30 day challenge.

Do you blog daily? Got any tips for keeping it fresh and always finding engaging topics to write about?
