A month ago, I published a post imposing unto myself a 1,000 HIVE POWER QUEST. The source would be solely from author rewards. NO depositing of Hive and then staking it. I could also add my curation rewards but it’s too little to make an impact.

So, here comes the first month update on my quest for HIVE POWER (HP). It’s actually a bit delayed. I was supposed to publish this around March 23 or 24 but life comes in the way so I was not able to do so. 🙂

Power Check

To start things off, let’s do a power check. I started this quest with only 41.503 HP. As of march 23, my HIVE POWER was 151.070.

Within a month, I published a total of 12 posts which rough equates to 3 post a week.

Most of my HIVE rewards are from participating in Splinterlands Weekly Contests. The Arts Challenge, Battle Challenge and Social Media Challenge.

Below is a snapshot of my current account growth for the past month.

Image grab from PeakD analytics.

Now let’s check on the road map and compare it to my target HP after a month.

It is clear that I missed my target by 57.103 HP. I’m a bit sadden by not reaching my target on time. However, if I think about, it’s only natural as I just started. The way I made my road map is I divided my target 1k HP equally into 6. What I should have made is more like an exponential function.

Great Community; Amazing People

Aside from the HP that I’ve gained, I would say that what is more important is being acquainted with other people. I’ve met a lot of wonderful persons and also learned a great deal of information from them. They affected my growth in various aspects.

Art Improvements

Personally, I would say that one of the things that improved a lot is my skill in 3D art.

I’ve been introduced to 3D modeling almost two decades ago. I learned to love it while learning it. Sadly, I was not able to pursue it because of work and other life related reasons. This leads me putting it aside before I could even master it. And then eventually, I forgot about it.

I was checking one of Splinterlands Weekly arts contest when I remembered that I can also participate. I'm not good on 2D art but I can do 3D. This would be a great opportunity to continue where I left off.

At that moment, I made a commitment to myself to take part on every Splintelands weekly arts contest.

A month later, and it did paid off.

Not only that I improved a bit, but I also find the contest fun.

I’m inspired by my fellow contestants – their artwork are so amazing that I want to do my best.

From time to time, I also visit communities focused on art to learn and be inspired more.

Writing Skills Improvement

There is no doubt that there is a great improvement in my writing skills over the past month.

I remember the first few posts that I made that it took me days and nights to create and they are terribly made.

It’s still taking me excessive hours to write and the quality still has a lot of room for improvement. However, I can do it much faster and my writings are more readable than my first ones.

Up-to-date Financial/Trading/Investing Studies with LeoFinance

I’ve been also learning a lot of financial knowledge with LEOFINANCE. The good thing about this is its free. Although, I’m sure that someone would argue and say that “it’s not – you are being paid while you learn”. Which is also actually true. 😍

One of the things that I’m interested in is how another person see things - market analysis in this case. I will not only know the result of their analysis but I will also learn how they correlate things.

Thanks to this community, I am using a portion of my rewards tokens to embark on a POLYCUB journey. 🙂

Hands-on Liquidity Pool Management with Tribaldex

Reading about Liquidity Pools (LP) is a good way to start to learn about it.

But nothing beats the experience and the knowledge you will acquire when you also do it hands-on.

I’ve encountered LPs before but not interested because of two main reasons. First I don’t know which pair which I should be providing liquidity to. And second, I don’t have the confidence since I don’t have any prior experience on it.

Thanks to Tribaldexs’ LP, I had a hands-on liquidity pools. I’ve learned a lot.

The majority of my tribe token rewards as an author are currently in LPs.

The rest are either staked or liquid.

To date, I have a total amount of assets in liquidity pools that currently worth 50 USD in value. It's not that much but it's given to me for free and I am earning passive tokens from it. 🙂

Special thanks to the ONEUP Curators and Community.

Hands on Trading Exercises with Tribaldex and LeoDex

I also occasionally trade on Tribaldex. I generally use my liquid tokens.

The good thing about Tribaldex and LeoDex is that they are already integrated within the Hive Blockchain. There’s no hassle of transferring your assets from one place to another.

Also, since all of the tokens I’m using free tokens, there is minimal to NO EMOTIONAL TRADING.

I started trading on Binance as a newbie before discovering hive and I there's a lot of emotional trading. At least now, I can say that I’m far more confident with my analysis rather than my emotions when trading.

Also, there are instances where I used the market to trade rather than swapping tokens/coins on the LPs. I generally prefer the market over the LPs when there is a wide spread.

More Resource Credits (RC): Less Hassle

My HIVE POWER enabled me to do more transactions on hive without worrying running out of RC.

At first, I usually wait for my RC to recharge to publish a post or even make a comment.

And whenever I play on Splinterlands, transactions such as renting, claiming rewards, take a ton of my RC.

As of now, I’ve never experienced running out of RC.

Final Thoughts

Hive is really changing lives. Only a month has passed and I learned a lot.

I’m more convinced each day that imposing this 1,000 HP Quest upon my self is the right decision.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Hope you appreciate it.

I would also love to hear your opinions or thoughts regarding this matter.

Again, thank you and more power!
