For quite some time, I've only been observing the world of NFTs

Mostly on Twitter, where I followed some artists from #hive and I've noticed some have been doing extremely well in selling their NFTs on various platforms. I've seen ETH fees grow while missing out on many great projects that came online. Every single time that I saw hyped-up projects appear, and people making bank from these NFT's, I realized I missed out again. I just don't believe I should chase a hype to make some profits. To me, there are too many solid artists out there that deserve support and have my respect for the great art they create. I think it's truly awesome to see that they can now earn a decent salary from selling their art as NFTs online instead of not selling a single piece of art for a long time. I think it's quite kick-ass to see that the world of NFTs has empowered artists all over the world. Great progress!

I was triggered by a post from @hiddenblade about World Of Women

She showed her personal collection and mentioned that the minting of these NFTs cost a certain price. Seeing the bids on all of her women, made me think, I missed out (again, haha). I decided to start keeping a closer eye on the project, and since then, I've seen so many cool artworks across my Twitter feed. When I started following their project I started to look closer where the NFT influencers hang out to hopefully get closer to release dates of new projects, as I don't want to start buying NFTs on Ethereum on the secondary market but start minting them first. The fees are insanely high and a real turn-off for someone that's used to free transactions on the #hive #blockchain. @nftshowroom is super cheap compared to the other platforms, just a few $HIVE to mint something and you're good to go. But by now, I know I needed to expand my horizon to other platforms as well, even if it's only to learn more about the world out there as it's HUGE.

A little over a week ago, I found the Dorkis

It was on Twitter where I bumped onto one of the cool Dorkis NFTs, I don't remember how I landed there but I knew right away I wanted one. They are all hand-drawn on paper, after which another team member edits them digitally. Later I found out that this collaboration of the team members was initiated after a tweet last July! Can you imagine the hours that they put into this project to go live in September?

Where I responded to a few Tweets from the Dorkis account, the artist Tori was super responsive, which I personally always love, after her invite to join the Discord even without owning one of the Dorkis NFTs because of the cool community, I joined. I found that the Discord server from the Dorkis was super active with a bunch of real Dorkis and I mean that in the most friendly way! I knew I wanted to mint some Dorkis for my Ethereum collection NFTs.

Earlier that week, I moved around some funds to buy Ethereum to mint NFTs

Unfortunately, my timing sucked and therefore these funds are now still stuck in another coin before I can move them to Ethereum and mint anything. I hoped this would have been solved by now as I know I only have about 24 hours left to mint a Dorkis NFT, after that the rest will be burned, making them even rarer. I feel gutted that I will most likely miss out unless there will be a pump of that coin within the next 24 hours. (PLEASE!!). But, even though that I'm not a Dorkis owner myself yet, I decided to keep my promise to Tori earlier this week and write about this awesome project that stole my heart so that hopefully, more people will mint one during the last day of the sale. Check out this hand-drawn roadmap, I really love it:

I contacted Tori and she was happy that I wanted to do that

I know there are a lot of people sharing stuff on Twitter, and a big part of the communities in the world of NFTs is happening there, but I think it can be helpful for a project to have some new eyes on it coming from another angle, like in this case, Leofinance, and the Hive community in general. We have so many talented artists here on Hive, maybe it's nice to consider joining the platform to share your story as well Tori? If you want that, let me know I will send you a personal invite..

Here's a little note from Tori about her beloved Dorkis project:

We're a team of NFT nerds who are building something we love for the community we love and we intend to work hard on it for many years to come. It was inspired by seeing people get hurt by toxic communities and "rug pull" projects. We wanted to make something better because we're idealists who believe in the future of NFTs and the people who are into NFTs deserve better. We stick to our principles and want to gather as many good people as we can to support each other's work

I would love to see the 5k number being minted within the next 24 hours, if these cute Dorkis have caught your attention, maybe you can hop in and mint one or two before it's too late! Here's some cool Dorkis news which you may like reading:
