Hard fork changes

I wrote it before, usually these hard forks changes take some time to notice but this time I noticed almost immediately that the savings interest went up to 7% for both HIVE & HBD. I don't think I've ever used the savings account so far, but that's probably because I prefer being able to withdraw coins when the markets presents me options.

Credit card debt cleared

Last week I managed to clear our full credit card debt after just 6 weeks time, using cryptocurrency. I know that there are a few small amounts left that I need to focus on clearing, but these things don't have a huge interest rate as the credit card had, and therefore I'm not in a hurry to do that immediately. On top of that, the crypto holdings bag is not that big anymore, and half of it contains stakings which I can't touch. I prefer keeping the last bit for when there's an emergency thing. So that we have some crypto on the side for these moments until I saved up some more fiat for an emergency fund. Let's see with the next payday how things are looking before I decide on the new plan of action.

Car needs attention asap

Our car really needs attention asap but I still haven't found a car mechanic speaking English that can help us and it's honestly stressing me out by now because I want the thing to be safe, and I don't prefer it breaking down during the hot summer months, meaning we'd be inside during our free time. We aren't going on a holiday, so days out is going to be our thing this summer. I fear for the costs to fix the car, but therefore I'm not comitting to paying off other things that can wait another month or 2 as well. This is priority now.

HBD earnings usually give me some possibilities to buy crypto

Of course HBD earnings fluctuate, and depend on how many articles I'm writing and how many votes I receive, but usually it truly helps me to add some bags of crypto to our portfolio. I just buy them using the dollar cost average technique because taking the average, this is a good way to fill some crypto bags. I've managed to achieve a nice big bag of HOT and TEL at the time by filling the bags slowly. For the last bit of the credit card debt, I sold all, and now I'm repeating the process by using referal fees to buy HOT and other income streams for TEL.

Saving up HBD this month

I decided to save up my HBD earnings this next month at least until the new payday arrives. This way I can see how many HBD was earned in a month and also enjoy some extra interest on top of the earnings. I can't foresee the future, but I think I will try to get used to the savings option, save up the HBD there, and only take it out when I need it for something, rather than selling smaller amounts as they arrive. I can't say for certain that this will work out for me, of course, but I'm willing to give it a try. I kind of like buying smaller bags of crypto using DCA technique, but I also like seeing things grow, lol.

So what about you? Have you ever used the savings option in your wallet? Or haven't you used it ever before like me? Maybe the 7% APR also peeked your interest after the HF? Before publishing this article, I noticed that some witnesses already moved their node to 10% interest on savings according to @taskmaster4450's article, even more reason to put those coins in the savings account!
