You can say instead:

"There are many different blockchains, Bitcoin is one of them. Blockchain is just a collectively managed/secured database. What we apply the database to, how we manage and secure that information, is what can make all the difference."

Lead with that, then you can tell them all about that Ponzi MLM with the crazy ROI that you're going around hyping.
