Wow what a week that was, we were right with the rumbling in the Steemopshere. It looks like we're going to have interesting times ahead and we will see where TRON will take us. For now we're going to proceed like nothing happened but we would like to remind you that right now it never has been more important to vote for great witnesses, please consider to spare a vote for our witness @travelfeed. But now, let's dive right into this week's announcements, we got tons to cover.

Communities

Steemit Inc just announced the the full implementation of communities, coming straight out of Beta.

TravelFeed is also introducing full community-support with today's update. By default, your TravelFeed posts will now be published to the TravelFeed community, or you can select a sub-community. Feel free to head over to our Community page or use the Discover menu on TravelFeed.io and start following and exploring the ones you're interested in.

Join the TravelFeed community

Join the TravelFeed Communities!

We have started a TravelFeed community and several topic-specific sub-communities. In the topic selector within the TravelFeed editor, you can select which community to post to.

We are also looking forward to implementing several community-owned communities, starting with the Urban Exploration community. Also, we are looking for curators who want to help moderate our communities - if you are interested, please reach out to us. For now, communities are reserved for travel blogs and the same minimum requirements apply to community posts as for all other TravelFeed posts, but we are planning on integrating support for discussions and short posts into communities.

#travelfeed Retirement

With the arrival of communities, we will stop curating the #travelfeed tag with the launch of TravelFeed 3.0 in early March, so be sure to post through TravelFeed.io to be eligible for a guaranteed upvote.

Improvement Tips

We had some very intense feedback from users about the comments we were leaving to help you improve, we never had the intention to make you feel bad. But we can see that public criticism, even if they were made with good intentions, is not the way to go. Our new motto is to praise in public but to give improvement tips via your dashboard. Also in your dashboard, a new emoji-based quality score awaits you. A click reveals more details.

Facebook Video Embeds

And we're continuing with allowing embeds of content outside of our platform. After Instagram and Spotify, we're now allowing you to embed Facebook videos. Head over to our EasyEditor, add a new Code block and copy and paste the iframe-embed url to one of the Facebook videos you would like to add to your article and we do the rest!

Social Media 50 Steem Contest

Last week we announced a little contest, where we're going to share 50 Steem with users sharing Travelfeed.io content on conventional social media site using the tag #travelfeedio. Since participation was low and we intend to split up the price pool with several users, we decided to keep the contest running for one more week. So use the sharing buttons to share TravelFeed.io posts on social media using the tag #travelfeedio and secure your share of the 50 STEEM price pool!

Place 1

Travel Diary / Ceará: walking through the exotic northeast of Brazil - Part I written by @sofathana

On my 40-day backpacking trip through Brazil, Fortaleza, capital of the state of Ceará, was the first city I met. I had decided that my journey through the "giant of the south" would go to several places along its coastline and go down to Sao Paulo.

Place 2

The real beauty and opulence of nature – and it’s free written by @julianhorack

I find that people in general tend to admire something that has a price tag on it, or that is worth a lot of money, like a diamond or a ruby, but we gloss over or dismiss something natural that may be equally beautiful, but has no price tag, or is deemed less valuable by economic standards. As an intrepid traveler and photographer, I have cultivated an eye for the beautiful in nature, even though it may be fleeting or worthless. Also as a travel blogger, I am beginning to see the beauty in what would be considered mundane, normal, everyday items of views.

Place 3

Sunny Winter Holidays in Europe written by @ctdots

Winter… Winter always comes and once it does, somehow it feels that it never leaves. I hardly meet a person who doesn’t want to migrate somewhere warmer during the cold season. Here in Europe, we don’t have many places to run-away from the bitter cold of winter, but the Canary Islands is one of them. Yes, it lies just next to Africa in the Atlantic, but technically – it is Europe. One of the souvenirs from the long lost the great times of the Spanish Empire.

Join TravelFeed!

Are you not on TravelFeed yet? We invite you to check out TravelFeed.io and to join over 1000 travelers on our Discord community. We’re also looking for one more curator to join our team.

We’re in Beta and continuously improve TravelFeed, meaning that there are still some bugs. If you notice anything or have feedback for us, please don’t hesitate to contact us on Discord, leave a comment or open a bug report on Github!

Consider Delegating To Us

Once we launch our token, there will be a generous airdrop to delegators. Your delegation does not only supports the growth of this incredible project, but also helps the entire travel community on the Steem blockchain. Our Steem Power is fully used for curation of the best TravelFeed posts. Feel free to use the following links according to the amount you would like to delegate to @travelfeed, or head to our Support Us page to delegate a custom amount with the click of a button.

100 SP | 250 SP | 500 SP | 1000 SP
2500 SP | 5000 SP | 10000 SP
15000 SP | 25000 SP
50000 SP

We'd like to thank every single delegator who believes and trusts in us. If TravelFeed becomes as successful as we are confident it will, delegating to us is probably the investment with the highest ROI on Steem right now.

Vote for Our Witness

You can support TravelFeed by voting for our Steem witness @travelfeed. By building our platform on Steem, we are supporting this amazing blockchain. In order to help other projects building on Steem, we are publishing large parts of our code base open source on{' '}Github.

If you want to vote for our witness but are not sure how to do that, it's easy: Head over to our Support Us page and hit the witness voting button to vote with Steem Keychain, or Steemconnect if you are not a Keychain user. Alternatively, use this Steemconnect link or head over to Steemit Wallet and enter travelfeed in the box.
