This is a post I made on my Facebook wall:

I've already spoken with the people who are working on getting me "emergency" housing. It has been six months of waiting, this was after the first year and a half failing the test because of the way the test is structured to ensure that you will fail and/or get a very low score that is about equivalent as failing.

White people are working on it. When I've asked about any progress lately, they say the same thing as they said before all of the shit hit the fan, "You have to wait. We don't know how long it will take and there is nothing that we can do."

Do you think it is going to be any better now with what is currently happening? I want to be optimistic, but, in reality, the opposite might be just as true. Yin/yang

I hope when you do the same paperwork that you find what I've said here to not be true for you and you get housing as quickly as the virus is going around.

For all the other people, which is most of us, when reality hits you and you're waiting for "emergency" housing, that is if you answer the questions in a way that will qualify you for that (at least 80-90% will fail), then you will know that what I've typed here isn't something that I've JUST pulled out of my ass because I want to be difficult.

Maybe things will change. Should I start holding my breath?

I'd love to be in contact with that person that says, "We have what you need, perhaps not all that you are requesting but it is a stable environment that works with what you are already doing to ensure that you are taking care of yourself in the position that you are in. Come talk to me." - This is magical thinking. I'm very prone to it and, apparently, so are the outsiders who say, "You need to talk to someone within the system," as they imagine the capitalist system is meant to benefit people like me or you. I/we are not part of the billionaire class.

Please, prove me wrong, please!

I'm up for ideas and things that can be done. This might not require the government at all. What have you got?

I've already posted what I've got, ways that we can work together while still following the rules of the shutdown, and anyone has yet to get back to me.

FYI for peeps here. peakd.com is one of the things I've mentioned. The other two are atomy.com (connect with me if you are interested in the least) and uptrennd.com. All these ways offer a way for us to take care of each other and provide a way for us to take care of ourselves. I'm grateful that I've found these ways. When I can eat and pay rent, I'll be even more so. Until then, the artistic life for me. lol

Also, going to a shelter (which I'm pretty much against in general) doesn't make any sense to me. They want everyone who has a home to stay there and no large gathering. However, if you are homeless, they're packing random ass people into some space. Yeah...

And the rumor that is going around about the hotels/motels is that it is going to be used for those that qualify for emergency assistance or are in a high-risk area. As above, what qualifies for "emergency" is questionable and, since I'm usually not found hanging among the homeless population (trust me, most would never guess that I'm homeless unless I tell you, which I don't keep a secret), I don't think I'll quality for being in a high-risk area.

These are truly crazy times. I hope that you have family and friends that you are working with to get through this. If not, I feel for you.

Peace
