Today I have three small yet sexy greek silver coins to show off from my on-growing treasury. A set of 50 lepta (cents) from the 1870s:

These are a new addition to my collection and although in not the best condition I am not complaining since I paid spot price for the silver they contain!

On the front side they feature King George of Greece and read ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣ Α ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ for GEORGE I KING OF THE GREEKS

The back side is pretty plain, featuring a crown and reading "ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ 50 ΛΕΠΤΑ" for KINGDOM OF GREECE 50 LEPTA

These babies weigh 2.5 g each, of .835 silver so all three are about 6.2 g of silver. A nice small piece of history :)

Quick Specs

  • Issuer: Greece
  • Weight: 2.5 g
  • Composition: Silver (.835)
  • Diameter: 18 mm

More precious coins and shit
