And the Australian silver coin saga continues! This one was minted in 1978 and even comes in a sexy leather case !

Let's open it up!

Woah! Who would have thought! Another with Elizabeth! 😆

Ok let's get this bad girl out! As a sidenote I must warn you, this coin has a mirror like finish, I tried my bestest best to capture its beauty but even getting the details right was almost impossible. I must say it looks way way better from up close!

Let's take a closer peak:

As you can see from the photos, this commemorative dollar is dedicated to the 1978 Commonwealth Games held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada from 3 to 12 August 1978. Actually I had never heard of the commonwealth games, and I would probably never had if it wasn't for this coin! Learning new stuff with random silver coins is fun ^_^

And I love how they fitted all the sports in the reverse side!

Silverwise, the coin weights 23.3276 g, but unfortunately it's made from 0.500 silver. Wish it was more but oh well... It's a real beauty so I won't complain much!

Here are some more details from numista if you are interested:

And here's how it fares to the other silver Australian pieces I have covered, along with a regular boring euro coin:

That's some top notch Queen Eli porn if you ask me!
