It is a good thing that people are getting to know more about how blockchain and cryptocurrency work. Many people have painted it differently. Some people still think blockchain is a kind of Ponzi or multi-level marketing system. I asked someone what is blockchain, and he started with - “It is an organization...”

There are many victims of Ponzi schemes and it makes them feel blockchain is a thing to avoid because some dirty players wrapped Ponzi around bitcoin.

Aside from bitcoin and other excellent projects out there, there were many useless systems during the early days of crypto. In 2017, I invested in Regalcoin (which is not even on the coin market again). They provided a juicy referral bonus, and many people were pumping money into it. Many things looked shady about them, but I was following the instructions from my mentor then. Regalcoin had no support system. No communication channels and people still trade millions of dollars through them. Then it later shows that it was just a Ponzi. The coin went high to $90, but crashed down to the zeros.

There was this centralized project, then called TBC (The Billion Coin Shit). Many people in Africa invested in it. I also invested before I realized what blockchain is. The token grows every day in value and they claim each token will reach $1 billion. Many people in the world fell for the shit, including me. I bought some, but I was still pretty smart about it. I sold some off to some people willing to invest in the nonsense coin back then .

Mark Manansala shared his experiences with Cointelegraph. He was introduced to bitcoin in 2017. He got an offer to make a video of himself talking about the project to get some free tokens. He did and got the token. Then he reinvested and invested more of his money, but it later turned out to be a Ponzi/scam project.

He removed what he could before the coin crashed off. But instead of this experience bringing him down, he researched and know more about blockchain and bitcoin. He got the experiences, and he is now a Blockchain evangelist. He started preaching this to people in the Philippines and he extended to other countries like Vietnam and Indonesia.

Mark Manansala

We all have our crypto and blockchain experiences, the good, bad and ugly. However, they summed up to build us better. Now I am also a blockchain evangelist and I can’t preach without mentioning Hive, since this is like a home for me.

Are you a blockchain evangelist and what are your genesis experiences in this sphere?
