4.3k DEC well Spent as I opened a $6 Chaos Legion Card

The creation play to earn gaming within the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry has been very novel and rewarding. My engagement of blockchain games was never a thing until I started receiving Splinterlands SPS airdrop which came as a result of holding SPT (Splintertalk) token for layer 2 curation on Hive. Anyone following my blog would attest that I have been an ardent believer of layer 2 curation and the profit has been and is still real.

The free $SPS received got me a little more interested in the Splinterlands game to date and its been an a exciting run so far. My bias for sports, and particularly soccer has glued m around Splinterlands the moment I read about the plans for Genesis league Sports. In all, the future of GameFi has been unlocked by the Splinterlands team as they now support an array of games that would be unfolding.

My participation in Splinterlands battle has been a bit difficult because my card deck has been poor. Today, I took a leap to improve the lots in that area to buy a pack of Chaos Legion.

The CHAOS LEGION card set is the third major card expansion to be introduced into the Splinterlands game. With over 100 new cards bursting with eye-popping artwork and strategy-changing abilities, it represents our largest and most ambitious release to date... The pack was worth 4,000 DEC which is valued at $4 within the splinterlands game, however, that did cost me abut 10 HIVE ($3.3). I learnt that to improve your chances of having a legendary and gold card in your collection while opening, one should have Legendary and Alchemy portions respectively. I got 5 and 2 respectively and that was an additional 300 DEC, bringing my total DEC spent to 4,300.

It is so exciting to open the cards and I saw an epic Water unit card Wave Brood. It is a level 1 Card with a ranged attack ability and good life counts (12). The card was valued at $1.85 with a record 100 Power.

I was happy to have had that card until I opened the Legendary Life unit known as Uriel the Purifier with good defensive and 3x attacking abilities. Incredible! The level 1 card is rated with 500 Power and is presently worth $6. That has been the best card so far in all packs opened.

If you ask me, it has been a great buy. 4.3k DEC just sorted itself about twice. That is, I made 200% profit from the pack just purchased if I sell out the card outrightly.

Going deeper, renting the card would fetch at lest 5.5 DEC daily for as long as a player is there to rent the card. That would amount to 165 DEC monthly. I am yet to decide what to do with the card, but it has already boosted my card deck Power from 280 to 820.

Today's CL pack was a worthy one. The goal is to open new packs week so I can improve my battle abilities as I want to start earning actively in splinterlands alongside the many passive earning opportunities.
