In the recent past, I've met several people who are been brain-washed to believe that they can just start creating videos on YouTube and sell when videos of great and powerful creators have been censored in recent times. I look at such people and it hurts my heart how long they tend to starve themselves of the truth.

The wake of Corona virus which has made social distancing and #stayathome to become a norm, has craved the need for "work from home" sources of income and the very popular ones for some creative minds would be to create YouTube videos.

Last week, a colleague called and explained his plans to set up a virtual school for his students and all I heard him said was You Tube all the way. I mentioned to him of 3speak and he was like "how do I earn from there?" I am creating this blog to address the very numerous persons out there who do not understand the value which decentralized platforms like Hive is offering to content creators.

On Hive blockchain, both the content creator and the Content consumer share rewards generated y a content. As a content consumer, what is expected of you constitutes:

  • Reading the post;
  • Upvoting (liking) the post;
  • Commenting on the post;
  • Sharing the post to your followers.

The first and second activity is a must for a content consumer to earn. When that is done, all the rewards generated in the post would be shared to all who contributed. This does not happen in other social media platforms. The content consumers are totally left out in the scheme of things when they are actually those giving value to the content. Let's break the above down with the typical example below.

The above screenshot is a post I made about 11 days ago which was valued at $11.65 by the consumer of the post. They expressed their acceptance and rating of the content by giving upvotes at varied percentages and weights. The upvotes resulted to the dollar value stated above and was due for withdrawal after 7 days. From the $11.65, both I as the content creator and the those who read and enjoyed the content earned.

I earned about 50% of the rewards being $7.03 while the consumers of the post shared $7.62 in proportion of the weights in which they upvoted the post. This is the amazing benefit of creating and consuming contents on the Hive Blockchain.

You need to read this solid presentation on how to "Earn cryptocurrency as content consumer and more ways in Hive Blockchain." The post elucidates very many other options for making money in Hive Blockchain.
