How I made my First Million - Blogging on LeoFinance

Each time I listened to motivational speakers and authors tell how they made their first million, I wondered how long it would take to hit that milestone especially with the economic realities I found myself. I had learnt that working hard (that I mean hard labour) could be one of the ways to turn out successful. I remember telling a friend that I do creative and technical writing far back in 2013 and he wondered how long it would take to make it since I was not authoring a single book.

I joined Hive in 2018 and my understanding on how to make money from soft work such as writing changed. I was grateful growing through the ranks from earning $0.21 as my first post on this chain to earning $1 and more. Yet, I never saw the possibility of hoilding as much as a 4-digit value of asset here any time soon. This was because I did not have extra cash to invest here. I have been a content creator from the very beginning.

When hive-engine emerged and I started engaging tribes and earning layer 2 tokens, I saw a lot of prospect, yet hitting a millionaire's mark was a far reaching goal. My second layer token started with $SPORTS. By March 2020, I got endeared to the @leofinance community through @Taskmaster4450le. His high profile engagement in content didn't start today. He'll always return several layers of replies under you comment each time you visited his blog. I was all new to crypto, yet, I learned everything here.

My growing engagement within the leo community grew so hard between March and July 2020 and it seemed like there was no other community that caught my fancy. I so believed in the future of the LEO token, as such, earning as much LEO was a priority. Creating Three to Four top level posts daily was not a difficult task since I would always weave every single write with my personal experiences and lessons. The support was massive. In appreciation, I did my best to market the community via my blogs to the best of my ability.

I had th privilege of being listed in the "LEO" Author Reward Leaderboard. In one of my post, I shared how my Monthly LEO Curation Earnings "alone" surpassed minimum Wage in Nigeria.

Looking back at my LEO curation rewards which add up to $77.7 USD over the last 30 days, it follows that just reading and "liking" posts on LeoFinance.io would earn me much more than a Nigerian civil servant on minimum wage

The $LEO tokens earned were staked. From 100 Leo Power (LP) to 1,000 to 10,000 to 20,000 LP and more was achievable. $HIVE and $HBD earnings were converted to LEO too. These were the days of LEO at $0.01 to $0.05. I kept stacking at my very best not knowing that the same year as 2020 would mark a turning point in my financial life despite the economic wreckage caused by the corona virus outbreak. Blogging on Hive, particularly, the Leo community was my only job.

2020 Q3 was a trying one for me and my family. All of my Hive holdings as at August 2020 wouldn't have solved a tenth of the problems that needed urgent finances. I kept hope alive and kept enjoying the fun of blogging. The firs $LEO price breakou in September 2020 was an indication of a rainbow for me. By December 2020 through January 2021, each LEO was trading above half of a dollar price and I was able to sell a good part into my local currency.

2020 Q4 to 2021 Q1 marked a turning point in my financial life, truly, I recorded my first Million Fiat balance. It wasn't just for the fanfare, it solved real problem for me, family nd friends and I'm grateful to God and everyone in this community that contributed their quota in development, curation and marketing. That is how I made my first Million - Blogging.

The essence of this post is that one can live his dreams here on Hive by creating contents. There is need for patience through the bear seasons as they won't be forever. There are no shortcuts. There is need for resilience and consistency in work. Hive is fun and Hive is work. Earning more on Hive and particularly, LeoFinance community now gets easier with Threads - a microblogging experience.
