Prelude Hello everybody, how is everyone doing? Today I am going to do a sharing on Harklaw. Unfortunately, I do not own the recommended card, hence I chosen one of my own to do a sharing.

Thoughts on Harklaw

By the name, it doesn't give much clue, but the picture does show what it is capable of. A creature with an energized shell.

Without further a do, let's get started with this week's sharing.
Let's look at the Level 1 base stats for Deeplurker:

ManaAttackHealthSpeedArmourAbility
82 (Melee)923Shield

Bronze League - NA Silver League - Immunity Gold League - Demoralize Beyond Gold - Attack + 1, Health + 1

What does Harlaw looking on growth?

At start, the shield it possess already is good. As it grows, the shell it possess becomes stronger and stronger to a point it gains immunity and not affected by poison.

As it continues to grow, it gains demoralize as it gets scarier and even scares off enemies and final growth, it gets to hit heavier and more health.

All in all, this is one amazing card to be used as tank. Strong, scary and immune to poison. Not forgetting that shield reduces the damage coming from thorns or even earthquake.

Alritey, let's see start the battle sharing.

Opponent Lineup

  • Summoner - Tarsa

  • Position 1 - Forgotten One

  • Position 2 - Fineas Rage

  • Position 3 - Uraeus

  • Position 4 - Tenyii Striker

  • Position 5 - Djinn Apprentice

  • Position 6 - Goblin Launcher

Prediction before pressing rumble Very different lineup between me and my opponent. I see many hard hitters fielded by my opponent not forgetting the boost from Tarsa to make them even higher hitting.

Let's get ready to rumble Round 1, Nothing much happened. Mainly the tanks absorbing the damage. Compared to my opponent, Harklaw took more punishment.

Round 2, Both tanks fell. I think if without shield, my Djinn Muriat should have been exposed by now. Good job Harklaw.

Round 3, Uraeus left exposed and being smashed by Lira. Arachne Thug took over as tank and continue to hold the fort.

Round 4, Arachne Thug being low health and without shield, couldn't stand up to the massive assault from opponent side.

Round 5, Fineas and Laucher being taken by from and back attackers from my side.

Round 6/7, Picking up the scraps, Lira and gang took the remaining ones out. Victory secured.

After Thoughts

A tank is very important in every lineup, else backline will be easily exposed. In death splinter, I own both Harklaw and Cursed Windeku where both are really capable tanks. But there are times which I will be picking Harlaw over Cursed Windeku.

Against non fire, Cursed Windeku works because I getting better trade value for Thorns. But in the event that the melee damage is high like facing Fire Splinter, Harklaw excels with the shield and also the initial armour. While Death Splinter have plenty of amazing backline, they are actually very vulnerable and easily killed. Therefore a good tank is critical to their survivability.

Did my strategy work in this game? I was expecting to face Fire Splinter due to the massiveness of their attacks and indeed Harklaw standing at the front certainly absorbed loads of punishment to ensure the backine can sufficiently wean down opponent lineup before falling.

Will I be using Harklaw in the future? It will be a tough call between Harklaw vs Cursed Windeku. Both have their own good and utility. But one thing for sure, if there is noxious fumes, you will definitely see Harklaw appear in the lineup due to its immunity.

Harklaw, an easily accessible Legendary card. Easy to use, fits in many decks and when called upon to endure noxious fumes, it is always ready. It possess many good attributes of being an amazing tank and should be in most death splinter lineup at high mana while Cursed Windeku can take care of the low mana ones.

The cost of Harklaw is not high and very much affordable. I strongly urge you to get a copy if you haven't already gotten a copy. Else, renting is also a very possible action to take to ensure Harklaw can be used as a part of your lineup.
