Beware of Amazon Marketplace / 3rd party sellers with low rep. Seller claimed to have shipped the product, but it never arrived.

Achtung vor Amazon Marktplatz-Verkäufern (Drittanbieter, nicht Amazon Inc.) mit einer niedrigen Rep. Verkäufer hat behauptet Produkt verschickt zu haben, aber es kam nie an.

Bei Bestellungen von Drittanbietern mit geringer Reputation oder unbekannten Web-Shops muss man höllisch aufpassen, was ich wieder einmal erlebt habe.

Ich wollte ein Spyderco-Taschenmesser für mein neues Messer-Sammelhobby auf Amazon bestellen. Da es das Modell bei Amazon nicht direkt gegeben hat, habe ich mir gedacht, ich riskiere es bei einem Marktplatz-Verkäufer zu bestellen.

Allerdings hat das leider nicht geklappt. Der Händler hat die Ware als versendet markiert und den Betrag abgebucht, aber das Paket nie an den Paketdienst übergeben, sondern nur die Lieferdaten eingetragen.

Laut Amazon-Bedingungen habe ich zwei Wochen auf das Paket gewartet und dann den Händler mit der Bitte um Stornierung / Rückerstattung des Kaufpreises kontaktiert.

Anstatt mir den Kauf zu stornieren, hat sich der Händler auf Lieferprobleme ausgeredet und wollte ein neues Lieferdatum in zwei Wochen versprechen.

Das war mir aber zu unseriös und ich habe dann die Amazon-Rückerstattungsgarantie (Käuferschutz-Garantie von Amazon) beansprucht, um den Kauf zu stornieren, was dank Amazon sofort geklappt hat. An dieser Stelle muss ich das Kundenservice von Amazon loben. Das ist Weltklasse.

Der Händler betreibt übrigens einen deutschen Webshop, hat das Produkt zum Zeitpunkt der Bestellung als lagernd geführt, aber hat auf Amazon nur eine Reputation von 81%, was ich leider übersehen habe zu checken (wird nicht direkt angezeigt, sondern man muss auf den Verkäufer-Link klicken).

81% ist kein besonders hoher Wert. Seriöse Händler haben auf Amazon oder eBay eine Bewertung nahe 100%. Bei allem unter 97-98% sollte man schon große Vorsicht walten lassen.

Was sagt ihr dazu? Habt ihr auch mal schlechte Erfahrungen mit einem Drittanbieter-Verkäufer oder Webshop gemacht? Ab welcher Reputation würdet ihr bei einem Händler nicht mehr kaufen?

You have to be careful as hell when ordering from third-party sellers with a low reputation or from unknown web shops, which I experienced again.

I wanted to order a Spyderco pocket knife for my new knife collecting hobby on Amazon. Since the model wasn't directly available on Amazon, I figured I'd risk ordering it from a marketplace seller.

However, unfortunately, that didn't work out. The seller marked the packet as shipped and charged the price, but never handed over the package to the parcel service, they only entered the delivery data.

According to Amazon terms, I waited two weeks for the package and then contacted the merchant asking for cancellation/refund of the purchase price.

Instead of cancelling my purchase, the merchant talked himself out of delivery problems and wanted to promise a new delivery date in two weeks.

But that was too unserious for me and I then claimed the Amazon refund guarantee (buyer protection guarantee of Amazon) to cancel the purchase, which worked immediately thanks to Amazon. At this point I have to praise the customer service of Amazon. That is world class.

The merchant, by the way, runs a German web shop, listed the product at the time of the order as stocked, but has only a reputation of 81% on Amazon, which I unfortunately overlooked to check (the score is not displayed directly, but you have to click on the seller link).

81% is not a particularly high value. Reputable sellers have a rating close to 100% on Amazon or eBay. With anything below 97-98% you should be very careful.
