Crypto stamp 3.0 (NFT) launching today 🐳
Heute ist der Launch der neuen Crypto stamp 3.0 der Österreichischen Post.
War gerade in einer Postfiliale und konnte noch eine neue Crypto stamp 3.0 ergattern, die diesmal einen Wal als Motiv hat, als Anspielung an die Wale im Kryptomarkt, und eine Auflage von 100.000 Stück aufweist.
Neu ist diesmal, dass die Crypto stamp per NFC-Funktion am Smartphone ausgelesen werden kann, ohne dass man die Marke öffnen muss, was ein cooles Sammler-Feature ist.
Ist die Karte noch nicht geöffnet (der QR-Code noch nicht ausgelesen), wird der Wal als schlafend dargestellt. Damit kann man nun auch den Zustand der Stamp überprüfen und muss die Packung, die wie ein Los perforiert ist, nicht mehr öffnen.
Die Crypto stamp ist ein begehrtes Sammelobjekt und eine Kombination aus einer physischen Briefmarke und einem "Digitalen Zwilling", ein NFT auf der xDai Blockchain.
Der Preis (Nominalwert) einer Crypto stamp ist vermutlich wegen der NFC-Funktion übrigens von 7 Euro (Crypto stamp 2.0) auf 9.90 gestiegen.
Die Stamps werden aber teilweise um hunderte Euros auf ebay versteigert, ein roter Wal wird zum Beispiel um 5000 Euro angeboten
Leider gibt es auf der offiziellen Post-Website zu den Crypto stamps keine Information zu den unterschiedlichen Farben der Karten bzw. habe ich sie noch nicht gefunden.

Update: Wegen der hohen Gas-Fees, sind die Crypto stamp 3.0 nicht mehr auf der Ethereum Blockchain gespeichert, sondern befinden sich auf der xDai Blockchain, einer ETH-kompatiblen Chain.

Today is the launch of the new Crypto stamp 3.0 of the Austrian Post Office.
I was able to get hold of a new Crypto stamp 3.0, which this time has a whale as a motif, as a reference to the whales in the crypto market, and has a circulation of 100,000 pieces.
What's new this time is that the Crypto stamp can be read via NFC on the smartphone without having to open the stamp, which is a cool collectors' feature.
If the card is not yet opened, the whale is shown as sleeping. This also means that you can now check the condition of the stamp and no longer have to open the package, which is perforated like a lottery ticket.
The Crypto stamp is a coveted collectible and a combination of a physical stamp and a "Digital Twin", an NFT on the xDai Blockchain.
The price (nominal value) of a Crypto stamp has increased from EUR 7 (Crypto stamp 2.0) to 9.90 probably because of the NFC function.
However, some of the stamps are sold for hundreds of Euros on ebay, a red whale is even listed for EUR 5000.
Unfortunately, there is no information about the different colors of the cards on the official Crypto stamp website.

Update: Due to the high gas fee situation on Ethereum, the Crypto stamp 3.0 NFTs are not stored on Ethereum any more, but reside on the xDai Blockchain, an ETH-compatible chain.
