Flip-Flopper.

Oh, Elon Musk is apparently buying Twitter for $43 billion after all, the Twitter Board has surprisingly approved the takeover bid, what does this mean for (centralized) social media, will Musk open-source Twitter?

Just a few days ago it looked like the Board was going to fight the takeover with the "poison pill", now they suddenly accept Musk's offer.

I speculate that probably most major investors are positive about Musk's offer and that's why the board now has to back down.

Curious how this will all play out, whether Musk will keep his promises to open-source Twitter's algorithm and to censor less.

But I am also skeptical that it's a good idea for a single investor to control an entire social media platform and make the company private.

This is the opposite of transparency and decentralization and creates a single point of failure. Everything then depends on one single person and as we know Musk can change his mind 180 degrees very quickly. Flip Flopper.

What do you guys think about the takeover? How will affect other social media platforms? Will they also try to censor less so that users don't migrate to Twitter.
