Haha, Elon Musk, der heute 50 geworden ist, hat jetzt auch Satya Nadella zum Launch von Windows 11 mit folgendem Kommentar getrollt:

Zune war der wenig erfolgreiche Versuch von Microsoft Mitte bis Ende der 2000-er Jahre an den Erfolg der Apple iPod MP3-Player aufzuschießen, dessen Trend Microsoft etwas verschlafen hat.

Erst mit dem Zune HD (2009) gelang Microsoft der technologische Durchbruch, allerdings zu spät, um im Portable-Player-Markt noch Fuß zu fassen, da Apple bereits das iPhone gelauncht hat.

Zune HD wurde allerdings später die Basis von Windows Phone 7 und das Metro-UX-Konzept wurde daraufhin ebenfalls in Windows 8 übernommen und lebt auch heute noch teilweise in Windows 10 weiter.

Zune was Microsoft's less successful attempt in the mid-to-late 2000s to catch up to the success of Apple's iPod MP3 players, a trend which Microsoft somewhat missed.

It wasn't until the Zune HD (2009) that Microsoft achieved a technological breakthrough, but too late to gain a foothold in the portable player market, as Apple had already launched the iPhone.

However, Zune HD later became the basis of Windows Phone 7 and the Metro UX concept was subsequently adopted in Windows 8 and still lives on to some extent in Windows 10.
