Intel Blockchain Accelerator: Intel announced developing its first ASIC-powered Bitcoin miner

Intel steigt groß ins Bitcoin-Miner-Geschäft ein und hat angekündigt einen leistungsstarken ASIC-betriebenen Bitcoin-Miner zu entwickeln, der "1000x schneller" SHA-256 hasht als GPUs.

Wirklich relevant wäre aber nicht der Vergleich mit GPUs, sondern mit anderen ASIC-basierten Bitcoin-Minern wie dem Antminer S9 von Bitmain, der 13.5 TH/s schafft und 1350 Watt benötigt.

Genaue Spec-Zahlen gibt es aber noch nicht.

Mehr Anbieter von Bitcoin-Mining-Hardware ist grundsätzlich eine sehr positive Entwicklung.

Mich wundert eher, dass Intel nicht schon früher in das Mining-Geschäft eingestiegen ist.

Intel is getting into the Bitcoin mining business in a big way and has announced a powerful ASIC-based Bitcoin miner that hashes SHA-256 "1000x faster" than GPUs.

Really relevant, however, would not be the comparison with GPUs, but with other ASIC-powered Bitcoin miners like Bitmain's Antminer S9, which achieves 13.5 TH/s at 1350 watts.

Exact spec numbers are not yet available, however.

More providers of Bitcoin mining hardware is basically a very positive development.

I'm more surprised that Intel didn't get into the mining business earlier.
