If you take the time to read a post, then leave a comment. Even if you dont upvote the post, put something down that is applicable.

I feel like I might leave some low quality spam if I try to comment on everything I read. Instead I tend to do the opposite; I drop a vote and move on without commenting. That way the author knows that their work is appreciated while I can take the lazier road while having overall higher quality on comments.
