I powered down some STEEM (not very unlikely thing to do as DEC prices are dirt cheap with many new airdrops getting ready fro @splinterlands). There has been one trend I have been used to. DEC is normally cheaper on STEEM-Engine. This is why I have been loving the experience of spending my STEEM for Dark Energy Crystals.

I recommend doing an arbitrage trade for those who are not interested in playing @splinterlands But the current market conditions doesn't allow much of that either. Worst part is that I have already transferred my STEEM and paid the 1% fees.

That Was 32 STEEM/$14.22 Trading Volume

I'm used to having a good 20 times larger volume for DEC on STEEM-Engine which is still very low compared to HIVE-Engine. Take a look at the difference on the HIVE second layer:

22.95% Arbitrage You Cannot Use

If more people started selling DEC on STEEM-Engine we may have a better volume now. I can settle for having less of a discount compared to HIVE-Engine prices. I would even be happy with the same prices as HIVE-Engine. After all 1000 DEC can still be spent as it it were $1 on @splinterlands

STEEM Pump is Probably To Blame

One of the issues/advantages of HIVE/STEEM-Engine DEXs are that they have their token prices traded based on more volatile cryptocurrency rather than fiat like USD. Swings in STEEM and HIVE prices can greatly affect the price of the underlying assets. This can be amazing or not that great depending on where you stand in the market/trade.

You can take a look at prices on @coingecko These prices combined with low volume can create interesting scenarios for Token prices.

Have A Good Eye For Caution

Things can massively change in a short time span. Make sure that everything is in proper order to pull off your trades. If this is your first time hearing about the arbitrage related to DEC prices. You can have my additional tip that https://steemmonsters.com allow you to transfer DEC between STEEM-Engine and HIVE-Engine without having to pay any fees. This strategy only works for DEC as far I know.
