Crypto Neighbors or Bitcoin Buddies?

I just came back from coffee and crypto, at the house of a neighbor and fellow Dutchman ( here in the Portuguese countryside ).

The two of us talked about crypto, about neighbors, our recent travels to the Netherlands and crypto, again.

In all honesty, crypto is our main topic of conversation, whenever we meet.

Both of us are heavily invested in crypto currencies and pro Bitcoin.
You could call us 'Bitcoin Buddies'.

Now I think of it, since we first met, about 3 years ago at my twin sister's land, way before we were neighbors, we have been talking about crypto ( predominantly ).

This guy is not the only person I know around here who is interested in crypto but he is the one with whom I talk about it most. Many others have a family and seem to - understandably - prioritize other things over talking about and diving into this time- energy and brain power consuming subject.

I'm sure that some of my friends and acquaintances might regret not having taken up on my advice ( to get into / invest in crypto ) while others probably don't care much, don't even need the extra money or are afraid to jump in, due to not understanding the subject at all and / or mainly picking up on the FUD ( Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt ) spread by the mainstream media.

Long story short...

three words that usually make people who know me for a while smile, as they know summarizing isn't my forte and I am a storyteller at heart

I bought more Bitcoin, this afternoon, after visiting my neighbor.

This is something I am able to do with serious money, since I sold my house a week ago.

Buying Bitcoin right now feels like one of the wisest things to do, for several reasons:

  • Saving is a joke these days.

Many people are close to paying for their savings accounts, if they aren't already - seriously 'savings' accounts should be renamed to loss accounts - and I am not even talking about inflation of fiat money.

Inflation if you're lucky with where you're living and hyperinflation if you aren't.

  • In all honesty, I don't know enough about stocks ( stopped looking into them since I got into crypto 4.5 years ago ) and, in all seriousness, they are way less interesting to me than crypto currencies.

  • And don't let me get started about cash.
It's nice to have some and it's still very useful - especially in a rural area like this - but you don't need much of it.

  • ( Although nobody knows with certainty ) Bitcoin is predicted to go up at least twice this year and might even move toward 200 to 300k USD next year, during the end of this bull run.

Now did you know that - from about 0.3 BTC onward, you are among the 1% of largest Bitcoin holders? 99% of Bitcoin wallets hold less BTC than that.

I won't disclose how much I hold right now but let's say that I'm moving towards that 1%.

There was a time when I held 1.3 BTC. I bought it around the bottom of the ( last ) bear market, in December 2018.

In fact, I could have bought about 8 BTC back then, but I made different choices and had just bought a house that I really needed to renovate.

In comparison: BTC was $ 3200 back then and is nearing 60k USD right now.

I could go on and on, but I merely felt like writing about BTC and my neighbor. I wanted to show you that I'm more than a ( somewhat ) introverted, hypersensitive creative hermit who ended up on the blog- and blockchain. I am a serious crypto investor and have been so since I first discovered about crypto in May 2017.

I am curious to hear whether you have any crypto enthusiasts living near you and how you feel about Bitcoin at the moment?

For a change, I asked my 7 year old nephew to make the illustration for this write up. Just kidding! Some days you just feel like drawing and ( water ) coloring like a 7 year old. Today is such a day.

Fun fact: I drew my neighbor - who lives in a small valley, while I rent a house on a hill - as a long neck, as he is 2 meters tall ( 6'8" ). I am not a short guy ( 6'1" ), kind of average, but I have been a baseball cap donning raptor since the start.
