What DEFI Project(s) to invest in? The CertiK Leaderboard
While on an after dinner walk, I checked the crypto news on the blockfolio app and one headline in particular caught my attention:
My brain merely saw the words 'Raising Security Standards', 'CertiK', 'Leaderboard', 'Investors' and 'Decentralized' ( and filled in the word Finance ) and connected the dots, thinking of Binance Smart Chain ( Farming ), Leofinance and CUB(DeFi) among other projects.
Since a month or two, I have been active on Binance Smart Chain, farming, staking and HODLing CUB
and don't tell anyone, at times, selling some to pay my bills
Rewind to Half a Year Ago...
Although I'd already heard of the DEFI area of the blockchain and of Binance Smart Chain in October or November, it felt too much over my head and probably too risky for me to delve into. I also had some issues with Binance, over reasons that I am sure most people who have been on Hive from the start can relate to.
I had an account there but I didn't use it for a long time. In fact I didn't even manage to log in and I kind of let it be.
I mainly bought some DeFi coins on Coinbase, hoping that they would go up without much of a plan. I also wasn't very patient with them as they were supposed to moon quickly, so I hardly made many on these investments. I might have even lost money.
Then, at a certain moment in time, a month or two ago, LeoFinance made things easier for me. And, as soon as CUB was airdropped, and then available to farm on BSC, I dove in head first. I saw an opportunity and I went for it even though it meant temporary headaches.
I bought a lot more CUB than was airdropped to me. Even sold some of my precious BTC/ satoshis for BNB to increase my liquidity on Binance Smart Chain and, when Binance, finally re-activated my Withdrawal option, I started some serious DeFi farming.
Should I Farm Any Other Coins than CUB or not?
Although, recently, I have been tempted to try out other DeFi coins on Binance Smart Chain, I managed to control myself and not risk any of my crypto assets
( FYI: I don't own any FIAT money at the moment nor do I have any income outside of crypto )
This doesn't mean that I didn't watch, from the sidelines ( holding a bag of virtual popcorn ), how other Hive / LeoFinance users did try their luck / risk their assets in brand new farming pools, with usually exceptionally high yields.
The FOMO was strong but I didn't budge.
As was to be expected, many of those risky endeavors led to these users losing money, due to the project being a rug pull / possible scam or just a failure with its yield rocketing down soon after the launch.
So, when I found the above article tonight, I felt this was just what I - and probably many of you - need to actually (re)gain the courage / trust to get into DeFi / yield farming / Binance Smart Chain and so on.
Knowing that CUB is going through a CertiK audit, right at this moment, for the upcoming CUB Kingdom(s) update, I decided to look up CUB in the CertiK leaderboard.
I was pleased to find out that it's already there with an 87 out of 100 score. Not too shabby, if you ask me. In fact, it made me smile and enforced the confidence that I have in this project, even though the value of the token has just been going down for quite some time and is at an all time low today. I will keep farming and mainly HODLing and compounding / staking my CUB profits, as I have been doing since the start. In fact, I will probably keep buying smallish amounts of CUB as long as the price keeps going down. I feel the current value is a steal and like to strengthen my diamond hands.
I could make this a very long post but I am mainly excited to discover this CertiK leaderboard for trustworthy DeFi projects and wanted to share it with you, so I'm gonna cut it short here.
Perhaps this is just what you need(ed) to get into DeFi or take your first steps into CUB farming on Binance Smart Chain. No matter what, I welcome you to the exciting DeFi landscape and the future of finance and hope you enjoy the ride as much as I am enjoying it on an almost daily basis :>)
