Nectar Queen is a great monster to use in Earthquake Ruleset battles in Splinterlands NFT Play2Earn card game. Earthquake simply means that non-flying cards take 2 damage every round.

In this instance I used Nectar Queen in a Splinterlands Earthquake ruleset battle.

Here is the summoner and the monsters I used in this 14 mana battle:

Mylor Crowling

Mylor Crowling of the Earth Splinter is a Splinterlands Summoner that gives the 'Thorn' ability to all monsters that does wonders for all melee monsters that are selected. This ability means that every time a monster is attacked my a melee attack monster, it does damage back to that monster. The main reason I chose Mylor Crowling was not just for the 'Thorn' ability but because I wanted to use Earth Splinter's Nectar Queen which is an awesome flying ability card great for 'Earthquake' ruleset battles.

Furious Chicken

Furious Chicken was used in the 1st position to waste the first attack damage of the opponent. Furious Chicken is an excellent Splinterlands card to use in low mana battles when you have selected all the monsters you want to use in the battle and have an opening left to fill. It costs 0 mana!

Epona

Epona is also a good filler card because it costs only 1 mana and at level 1 this monster also gives +1 health to all monsters. I used this card in the 2nd position to also take the 1st round damages from the opponent to 'Protect The Queen' which will be placed in 3rd position so she can be kept protected from the early damages in the battle.

Nectar Queen

(The Star)

Nectar Queen is truly the queen in this battle. She is protected from the early attacks. She is in 3rd position for this battle. The idea here is to hope that the opponent's non-flying cards get damaged by earthquake first and waste their first attacks on the first 2 cards first before she gets into battle as a front card (she is a front battle melee card which means can only battle as a front card). She has high health and also has the flying ability. Enemy melees and range tend to miss her occasionally too. At level 4 she has 4 attack and 12 health which makes her a great monster to use in battles. Furthermore, if the opponent had used melee monsters, the 'Thorn' ability that the summoner Mylor Crowling gives gives her that added advantage. The 'Thorn' ability causes any melee monster attacks on her to give damage back.

Creeping Ooze

Creeping Ooze is also another good filler card as it costs only 1 mana to use this monster in battles. I placed this monster at the rear to protect Nectar Queen from any early possible sneak attack from the opponent's monster which in this case the opponent did do a sneak attack which only killed Creeping Ooze and kept Nectar Queen free from that 1st round sneak attack.

Hope this blog has been helpful especially for newbies to the Splinterlands game. This is a fun game with huge investment potential for NFT collectors. If you have been thinking of joining this game, you can use my Splinterlands referral link.

It takes only $10 to play the game with unlocked starter cards. This will unlock rewards that you can earn on a daily basis with daily quests and also at season end which is every 15 days.

Splinterlands is great for NFT investors as history has shown that the cards give great returns on investment and it is an awesome card game too.

For a start my advice is not to rush into buying cards immediately. Battle with other players first to see what cards bring value and are most effective in battles. You can also buy packs which contain the latest new cards with great price growth potential. Feel free to drop me a comment should you need any assistance or advice.
