In one of my past posts, i have written about how i got 'scammed' into losing one of my assets due to a fake airdrop token claim.

In this series of post i wanted to take you with me on my journey in which i try to recover my losses before the end of this year. And i want to find out, if it is possible to do with crypto earned in several ways, or if it's even possible to get a reasonable amount of crypto from things like faucets or games if you start from scratch.

This will be my one of my challenges for 2022, so wish me luck!

What i've lost

What i didn't mention in the other post is what asset was lost, so here goes: 492.000 Safemoon V2 tokens, good for almost $900.00 at the time. Now i know that a lot of people are out there thinking this project is a scam, a rug-pull or whatever you want to call it, i still think the project has potential. And if it was a scam or rug-pull, it wouldn't have survived for over a year, nor would they have released their own crypto-wallet on IOS and Android, or their year long advertisement on Times Square (link down below). If you want to read up on this token, feel free to have a look at their homepage and roadmap.

Also, one of the mistakes i made which i still regret, is that i bought this crypto with 2 of my friends. So within that moment of not thinking right, i have lost their money, and i feel i need to make up them. The only good thing we did is, is that we bought the tokens with money we could lose.
This is also one the few advises i am giving people who want to invest in crypto, stock or whatever: Only invest what you are willing to lose, and what you don't need to pay any bills and always do your own research!

The Goal

So, me and my friends, lets call them Mr. T and Mr G. bought a total of 492.000 tokens, which i want to get back. The first goal will be to get back the lost tokens of Mr. T and Mr G. and afterward i am going to re buy my tokens. So the distribution of tokens is as follows:

Amount to recover
Mr T.90528
Mr G.151536
Myself249936

The Plan

The plan for 2022 is to get the lost amount back with passive income generated from things like blogging, faucets and playing games among others.

Throughout the year i am planning to dive deeper the things i use to get me to my goal and write posts about it. This way i can track my progress, and see if my time (our yours if you are into this type of thing) is worth it, or if was better of getting a 2nd job.

Below i will list what i am going to use to achieve my goal, and give a brief explanation of things.

Precautions taken

The first thing i did, in order to not make the mistake of losing everything again, is setting up new wallets for myself and my friends. If, in the worst case i get tricked into a scam again (which i hope won't happen) i wont lose everything, but only a small portion. These wallets are going to hold the safemoon i have bought back, in case of my own wallet, will also hold my remaining assets.

My old wallet will serve its days for the more tricky things i am planning to do, like participating in airdrops. It will hold a small amount of crypto just for paying fees, and if i have a token with any value i will transfer it into my main wallet. This way i cannot lose more than a few dollars in case something goes wrong.

Blogging

I think that blogging will pay off the most for the time spent on writing articles. And perhaps i will even gain a few followers in the process ๐Ÿ˜‰

These are the platforms i will be active on:

Peakd

I found out about the Hive blogging network and it's tribes after i started playing splinterlands. The Hive network will be the one where i make the most posts in community's like Splinterlands and Streetart among others.

read.cash

Sometimes i post things here, but it doesn't gain traction. I am still deciding whether i should keep using it or not.

publish0x

Publish0x is my goto site for reading up on new projects, games or trading tips. During this year i also want to improve my knowledge on trading strategies, and posts about this journey will come here.

Games

Throughout the year these will be the games i am going to put my time and money in. Perhaps i can find some more along the way.

Splinterlands

One of the most popular and well known play2earn games on this moment, and at home on the Hive blockchain. A card game in which you own the cards as nft and you battle against others, earning you dark energy crystals (DEC) on wins and new cards from boxes.

Rising Star

Another popular game on the Hive blockchain in which you sing your way to the top by doing missions which in return earn you starbits. In order to reach to top, you need to reinvest your starbits in order to buy new nft's of artists, equipment and more.

Nova Rally

A 'racing' game on the WAX blockchain where you form your racing team consistent of a car and 2 drivers, which then compete in a winner takes all style race. Upon winning you will get NFT pack containing shards of cars or drivers which you can sell for wax, or use to craft new assets for your game.

Mines of Dalarnia

Hosted on the Chromia platform, Mines of Dalarnia is a 3rd person 2d mining game, in which you can rent or buy mines hosting different kinds of crystal which you can use to upgrade you miners. Because mines only contain some of the needed materials, users can 'rent' access to mines of other players by paying for them with Dalarnia tokens (DAR).

Alien Worlds

Another well known game is Alien Worlds, in which you can mine TLM. Users need to buy (or can sell) equipment and land on the WAX platform. In a recent update they added timed staking of TLM coins in cooperation with Binance, called planet binance. In this mode you must stake a certain amount of TLM to rent a spaceship for 1, 2 or 4 weeks, which in return give NFT's and TLM. Currently there is not yet any use for these NTF's.

Rollercoin

This is an only 'mining simulation' game, where you gather RLT coins by mining. This mining is done by playing several types of simple games, like memory or an arkanoid clone. By playing these games, you will improve your hashing rate which you can use to mine several different coins, like bitcoin, doge or bnb to name a few. You can also improve your hashing buy purchasing miners, for which you use the in-game currency RLT.

Faucets

In faucets, i am the most interested actually, because i want to know if it's actually possible to get anything noticeable at all. And if this is possible, how long will this take.

Here is a list of some of the faucets i am planning to invest:

  • coin-farm: Here you buy a few birds, which lay eggs, which you can sell to by more birds. Thing is, i want to see how long it takes in order to be able to withdraw some amount of crypto.
  • simplebits.io: mining simulator which lets you mine bound tokens. These can be used to withdraw crypto like Dash, Bitcoin or Doge for example.
  • globalhive.io: Faucet to claim a small amount of ZEC each 24 hours

Others

sMiles

An app for your phone which gives you sats just for walking. And because i need to get out more i think its nice to get a little something by doing so.

Presearch

The search engine i currently use, which gives you PRE token per searched item. It works really well as a day to day search engine, the only set back is that real bad at image searching. For this i still use the google search enginge.

Airdrops

For airdrops, i will use sites like coinmarketcap, coinairdrops.com or airdrops.io. And use my dedicated airdrops wallet, just in case something goes wrong.

If you are also interest in these airdrops, please DYOR and take caution!

Final Words

I hope that i will succeed in mission to recover my loss before the end of December 2022, and with posts by the end of every month i want to keep track of the progress of doing so and if trying to build a passive income is possible if you start from scratch.
