Are you ready World Warriors?

Who else spent hours playing Street Fighter. Maybe it was at the arcades playing Street Fighter 2 or Street Fighter 3 where the winner stayed on and pro players could play for hours on a single quarter. Or maybe you were an online warrior and ranked up playing Street Fighter 4 or Street Fighter 5 on your Playstation. Street Fighter is one of those games that players of all ages have memories of and now there are collectable NFT cards coming on the wax network.

Gaming Collectables

First I want to say as I always do this is highly speculative so if you buy some packs keep in mind these cards might not be worth anything. Gaming collectables don't have the same money as sports collectables and NFTs are still a big ? when it comes to longevity. But a lot of people who buy NFTs are in the age group that grew up with Street Fighter and Pokemon cards are doing really well right now so you never know.

How They Work?

The Street fighter cards are different than the NBA Top Shot ones. You are not buying a pack that will have a set in them but you are getting building cards. When you combine them they turn into a new card and you can level this card up for another rarer card. You need to combine them with the same builder card, so two Ryu builder cards will you get the Ryu card. This means you are not going to pull a very rare card in a pack. I don't know yet if you can keep upgrading a card or once you upgrade it once that is it and that is your only chance of getting a rare one before starting over. There is still details to come.

Build Cards Have The Value

Keeping this in mind this should bring value to the builder cards as they are needed to upgrade your cards to get the super rare ones. No one is going to pull a "lebron" equivalent here and the packs themselves will have less value than the builder cards on the market. Once you do get a rare card (there are 8 rarities) the more rare it is the better, in theory, it should sell. But again way too early to see if people will be buying the ultra rare ones.

No CC Game

I'm disappointed that these cards don't have a game though. I was hoping they would be like pokemon cards and come with a game or have some kind of yield farming game where you can put your fighters in the ring and the winner gets drops or something. But right the collecting and building is the game itself. Maybe this will change in the future and I hope these cards are given utility.

Capcom Brand

These are also officially licensed by Capcom. This means you can see all the characters in the games over the years and opens up the possibility of other Capcom brands getting involved. I could also see these linking up to the game somehow in the future if they do well, maybe you can get a skin for your character in game if you hold a certain game. Just an idea. If these sell well it can also lead to more blockchain Capcom ideas and that is a world I want to see.

Wax

The good thing is being on wax these packs can be cheap and you can see people buying and trading them a lot. The gas fees are leading to more of a buy and hold market while wax right now is more of a traders market. They should make a Street Fighter coin where people get a piece of the fees from the trades and make a game to yield farm it and this would be a solid product

I'll be keeping on eye on this one. From what I've hard launch should be really soon, maybe even this week or next so make sure you are following if you want to get packs early. I'll probably post when they are out and give more details such as price and how they are selling.
